The question I have - is that a legal arrest (or attempt at one)? The suggested charges by GMP were all related to resisting arrest… so what were the initial grounds for attempting to detain?

I’m going to assume it’s the German 3 - and you’ve not seen Inglorious Bastards? -
I think you underestimate the ability of Trump being Trump. Plus there’s his VP pick Vance, that appears to have been a huge gift to the Dem’s. Mean, I have no idea how the ‘having sex with sofa’s’ meme has come about, but that is everywhere - and then to go the ‘people without children route’ - that’s not clever in a society where women are having children later in life.

I assume the artistic direction underneath it all was “how can we piss off Le Pen?” with the Director ultimately going “OUI!” -
Alves is one of those. And I’d argue Mavididi probably needs to be the other main one - so that we’re not relying on him to be defensively disciplined on the wing (he can block a passing lane as a pair in a 4-4-2 defensive shape easily enough, but can he track a marauding fullback?). Now I was one of probably only one that actually liked what we did against Shrewsbury by having Fawatu on the left, playing close to Mavididi - I feel they could link well together. Seems Cooper went for the Fawatu + Ndidi link up on the right that worked well last season tonight instead, but it felt awkward, especially when it meant Ndidi essentially playing up front as part of the defensive shape / press
-
Positives to take: • There’s no way Cooper is starting with a midfield 3 of Winks, Soumare and Ndidi again • Alves got some more minutes - reinforcing the idea he could be considered part of the first team squad rather than on the fringes. That’s all I have now.

I think the main thing I’m taking from this game is not liking the shiny backside to our shorts.
-
Preferred our shape / ideas against Shrewsbury. Tonight feels more of a hodge podge.

Could do with a sun blocker at the moment.

Yes, Danny Ward!

Fortunately we have Rik to “think of the children.”

You could have just said “Okoli Dokoli”
-
You get your starting 11 right first - that is always the priority.
-
Not liking the line-up / shape so far.

Any ‘sexy’ adds?

You sure this isn’t just some guy playing FIFA?

Just making sure they **** up the player photos again!

No Ward from the start? What is this team Cooper! You have to go with your number 1 here!

Something to consider on this Manchester airport incident. I’ve been trying to find confirmation on whether GMP brought any charges against the 4 they arrested. There is very little in way of confirmation one way or another - other than we know the two in the main video have since been released. Normally in an incident as high profile as this, some sort of confirmation would have been given by GMP by now - either charged and released on bail, released pending further investigations or released without charge - especially given the reasons for the arrests are pretty easy charges to substantiate for an incident that’s happened within a building that’s going to have lots of CCTV and the police’s own body warn cameras. Now I’ve seen some suggestions online that those arrested have infact been released without charge, with some citing ‘lack of evidence’. But there’s been nothing official - despite 3 other statements by GMP - inside 24 hours, which is somewhat curious.
-
It’s evident this was after the two initial arrests. It seems pretty obvious they were filming the previous incident. The officer wouldn’t be able to justify the use of pepper spray in that scenario (too close, no clear evidence of resisting). That incident has also been referred to the IPCC.

Nah, it’ll be another 90 for Ward.

Steve Cooper: The Tactics Thread

Why is Fawatu on the left such a problem? He can do these things on that side, with the only difference being he’d do it more often on the outside? I get why Cooper might view him as more effective there - if a defender comes tight to him, that will create space between full back and centre half for one of Vardy / Daka / Mav / Fats to exploit. If as a defence they back off - Abdul gets a running start. From what we’ve seen, Fawatu playing on the left would mean his closest suppliers of the ball would be Jannik, Winks, Mavididi and whoever plays up front. That’s some excellent technicians of the ball to find your runs. -

It’s not a 3 at the back system? There’s 4 across the bank as we defend. Yes, that becomes 3 as we attack, but if you talk to any football hipster the ‘3-2 rest defence’ is common across many teams. Heck, that’s even what Enzo employed! The alternative is to go for a ‘2-3’ setup - but given we have the likes of Coady and Vestergaard in central defence, that’s probably not suitable for our players?
