And nice run by Biscuit as well in that - shows he should have been on a lot earlier last week!
-
Whilst bringing Hamza on might have been needed… I may have been tempted to go braver with the change by taking off Okoli and going 3 at the back and pushing Cullen forward.
-
It’s not really a red for me - but if it means he can’t play next game I’ll take it!
-
Yeah, McCarthy isn’t it.

You can spot an aspect of play if it’s being shown!

It’s Biscuits
-
I know Burton have dropped off a touch themselves, but we’ve played some nice stuff for the last 10. Just needs a bit more conviction in the final third.

Biscuit’s has looked bright. You can see some intelligent movement already.

Burton have deserved that!

I sense Martin wants to keep Souttar. -
Did I spot a rumour that we’re moving to Castore next season? Guess we need to enjoy this season’s offerings while we have them!
-
Another winger? That’s what you think our priority is right now?

Russell Martin - Confirmed as First Team Manager

I have two main issues with him today; 1.) Braybrooke looked so bright on the ball when he got it - and yet Martin failed to make any meaningful changes to help him get on the ball more. 2.) That he persisted with such an ineffective presence in the striker position for so long. These were not difficult things to spot and the solutions to these weren’t difficult either. -

He’s promised him the No.1 spot in order for him to sign hasn’t he? I don’t see Martin dropping him if he’s fit. -

The stupid thing about today was we had actually gained control of the game, were 1 up, and with the right changes we not only see that through - we probably go on to win 2 or 3 nil. Biscuits had to come on up front earlier - and why not bring Braybrooke back a bit, ask him to sit a little alongside Skipp (or Hamza to come on for Skipp) whilst pushing Cullen centrally as a proper 10 to help emphasise our control? Instead, Martin slowly brought off our move threatening players, to the point we became far too impotent. Completely self inflicted. -
What I don’t get is Souttar was in a position to see he wasn’t offside!
-
Martin played Banzu for more than half a season… true, he did only have McCarthy to replace him with, but that does suggest he has no idea on Keepers!
-
Great bit of play, super goal! Got Braybrooke on the ball a few times in succession there - and Cullen did well too.
-
Biscuit would love that little cut back and cross from Alves.
-
Reid is occupying space that is preventing Cullen / Braybrooke from getting into the game. If he’s been asked to play as a 9 he primarily has to provide a threat in-behind. At times he’s been as deep as Skipp!
-
Yeah, we’re effectively playing strikerless and no team has the quality to do that in league one.
-
One thing with playing out of the back is - you have to maintain a threat that you might go long, otherwise the opponent can just squeeze up. If Bobby is to continue to play up top (and I doubt he will for long) he needs to be told to occupy their central defenders more than he’s doing. Like all of last season - we’d look a lot better with a natural striker.
-
I’d like to Braybrooke a little deeper so he can get on the ball more. He’s being asked to play in a pocket that’s being well marshalled by Notts County and it’s stunting not only Sammy’s game but Wes Burn’s as well.
