  1. Classic fan zone… go on someone, put up the ‘Hovis’ clip 😂
  2. Yes… but I think he errr’d not making a change. Up to 60 we looked comfortable enough, but had begun to get stuck in our own half a bit - a ‘freshen’ was needed, although what that substitution would be was tough - because I’d agree we didn’t have many appealing options on the bench. The other disappointment was how we blatantly switched off immediately after their substitution. I was about to post in the match chat “important moment to keep focus here” because it’s always a possibility - I just didn’t expect it to be straight away.
  3. He’s done well to miss that from there 😂
  4. Everyone is - it’s a no defenders game.
  5. Werner doing nothing to dispel the memories of Chelsea past so far 😂
  6. It’s not just this game though. He’s also has a habit of making 3 stoppages without using the full 5.
  7. Been keeping an eye on Fernandes’ defensive work over the last 15… he offers absolutely nothing!
  8. Ok, there was more in that penalty shout than I thought.
  9. No… black leg made contact with player, tackle leg made contact with the ball, a degree more control to it too.
  10. I still don’t like that sort of things a foul… let alone a yellow. Ref’s very quickly evened things up I see too.
  11. Their midfield is rather powderpuff.
  12. I see Deeney’s making a name for himself in management.
  13. United’s revival lasted 10 minutes then
  14. Seems defence isn’t not an option for either side.
  15. Very sloppy start by Spurs mind
  16. Who’s expected to win this? Not something you’d normally say for this fixture at Old Trafford!
  17. The suggestion of us ‘not turning up’ is perhaps ignoring the impact Robins had on the game tactically. The opposition manager can sometimes setup in a way to negate a threat or style of play - and Robins certainly did that in the first half. In a similar way to how Ipswich tried to combat our midfield dominance via the inverted full back, Coventry made sure they had a ‘box 4’ shape in the middle when out of possession by bringing wingers inside / sitting the striker deep. Unlike Ipswich however, Coventry managed to do this without sacrificing too much space out wide.
  18. Personally, I don’t think this is true. Extensive TV coverage across the divisions and social media means that every contentious decision can be endlessly discussed - and quite often ends up in debates of conflicting opinions. These debates will always involve reflection after several views of an incident, from various angles, with slowed down footage or the perfect still image showing exactly what you want. Referees get none of this, yet even with those advantages fans can’t decide between themselves what the ultimate decision should be so what chance do referees have in gaining any credit?
  19. My memory suggests it was either General Smuts or Man Pabs?
  20. Tell you what @Bert Having that flash back of those glorious Foxestalk FC days, it’s making me wonder if another game should be organised! Whose shot was it I made a worldie save from in that friendly game… whilst playing centre half 😂
  21. Fair enough - it was a bit like that awful foul on you in that tournament all those years back from memory - minus any touch of the ball. I reckon that’s what stopped the ref giving him a red. Had he not walloped the ball first, there’s no question it’s high and dangerous - penalty and red card.
  22. How about the pen? I was sipping a pint so missed the first watch. When I saw the replay I was torn - could see why it was given, but when I played (including with you) that would have been ‘play on’ great tackle!
  23. I have no doubt that played a part in their decision making - they just went a shitty way about it! I see Manning, after a couple of wins, has gone back to being crap!
  24. I said I doubted he could… but the main point was his distance from the ball was why he didn’t get the foul. If he’s right there, he gets it given every time, like we’re used to seeing.
  25. But that’s my point - if he’s within touching distance and gets nudged / whatever, he gets the foul. It’s because he’s so far away he doesn’t - it might be that he’s not even fully in the refs vision because ref’s tend to get caught ball watching.
