  1. It's amazing how many people on here seem to sit in the dressing room or in the manager's office! All seems to be one side of the story too. For there to have been an issue, I imagine VK must have said a few things too.
  2. Justin has played his best for us at left back. He got into the England squad as a LB.
  3. I think the people like myself that are questioning him aren't saying we just get rid of him for peanuts. If an offer came in where we get our money back, similar to the release clause that Bologna have declined to take up, then I would prefer to sell and try somebody else. We are a club that rarely sells any players, so sometimes I would be happy to sell a player if things haven't quite worked out to plan. If an offer doesn't come in, then obviously we need to keep and see how he does. He will now know the place well and has a year's extra experience in a good league, so he needs to step up and show what he can do. He will have a tough fight on his hands to get a spot in the team though as JJ was bordering on England quality at LB before his injury.

    Jakub Moder

We can't give that same excuse to every young player we sign. Soumare had plenty of time and opportunities to show what he can do, yet very rarely offered anything more than his slow, lethargic manner. Maddison at his worst was a class above anything Soumare has given us, yet he somehow get's more stick than most in that relegation season, just because he said a couple of things on twitter.

Do you not realise we will probably use the £25m or some of it to buy someone else too?

We are getting over £25m too! So you can't compare Moder to KDH.
  7. He did have a price which Arsenal were happy to pay, but thankfully he wanted to stay!
  8. Brighton have no worries about FFP.
  9. Don't fall in love with players too much. Every player should have a price.
  10. It was clear we probably needed to sell him before the end of the month. It’s got nothing to do with not caring about the club.
  11. I'm not denying that mistakes were made. However, the spending in January 2023 and the sacking of Rodgers and his team certainly had a big impact on PSR.
  12. If we had kept Rodgers and not spent in that January window, we would have probably stayed within the rules. Would you have preferred that scenario? In hindsight we went down anyway so it probably would have been the better option, but I bet most fans wouldn't have been happy with that? We did what we did to try and stay up. We're back in the Premier League now anyway and I'm looking forward to the season ahead.
  13. Looking back over the last ten years, there has probably only been one season where we have underperformed on what would have been expected of us. There are three or four that were par and the rest have been a massive overachievement. Yet people like you don’t want to give any credit for the good times and still can’t get the last season of Brendan Rodgers out of your head. We get promoted, win the league and it’s still all negative talk
  14. Those last two paragraphs sum up the state of this forum!
  15. I don't think he'll be looking on Foxestalk. Any player would be mad to look on here. I've not castigated him anyway. I just pointed out that he has made his fair share of mistakes in his time here, which is why he found himself out of the team. Yes he was young and you can give him excuses. We'll see what he can do this season.
  16. Not every 20 year old comes good though. See Luke Thomas for an example. Time will tell and we probably haven't had a decent offer to make a decision on it anyway.
  17. I'm not a tool and I'm not writing him off. We will be left with him I'm sure, so have to give him a chance. If we could have got our money back on him though, then yes I'd have taken it. Bologna obviously aren't going to do that though.
  18. He had a few bad days at the office when playing for us too. When can we start judging him on them?
  19. We’re in the Premier League. We really aren’t in as much shit as people like to make out.
  20. Let’s be clear. He could get us in the top half, but there will be some moaners still not happy. 17th or above will be a success this season, regardless of how we get there.
  21. Ironically the 75% of people on here that wanted Enzo sacked four matches ago, would have happily swapped him for Cooper then!
  22. The overreactions on here are reminding me of transfer deadline day when people were desperate for an injury prone Italian or when they wanted Enzo sacked! Well, I'm glad we aren't lumbered with Sensi and that we also didn't pay millions to sack Enzo instead of getting promoted and making £10m profit! While I'm not excited about Cooper, I'm certainly prepared to give him a chance. We were not present in the interviews to hear about how he intends to make things work here. I also couldn't care that he managed Forest. I only care about what he does here.
  23. Look how that turned out, means the appointment proved to be a success. A success this season will be staying up. It’s just simply comparing an appointment that turned out to be good. I still don’t think you can call it a horrendous decision until we see some results.
  24. The comparison with Ranieri is about the fact that nobody on here would have been happy about it. Not comparing this team with what we had then. He didn’t have a great record by the way. He’d just got sacked by Greece for getting humiliated by the Faroe Islands.
  25. They were starting from a far worse position than us. They had to spend a fair amount of money.
