I live in the countryside and a lot of people go dogging in the fields near where we live. It seems to be a great way of forcing yourself to get outside in the fresh air and get a bit of exercise. For some of local older folk it's probably the only exercise they get most days. We've resisted it so far because we've got two young kids to occupy us and don't really want the extra cost, but I can see us taking up dogging as a family in a few years' time.

I very recently turned 50 and am definitely having a minor midlife crisis. I suspect the only reason I'm not having a major one is that I had children a bit later (mine are six-years-old and 17-months-old respectively) and my parenting responsibilities, combined with a busy job, leave me very stretched. I have very little free time, hence very little time for introspection. This is probably a good thing as I am introspective by nature and would very likely be brooding on things a lot more if I had the time to do so. I am still subject to gloomy thoughts (about opportunities wasted, experiences that I'll never have again (or even at all), the sense of having not made full use of my time on earth, etc), but I usually only have a few minutes to dwell on these before my attention is diverted by the demands of my kids or work. God knows how I'll cope when they're older and I get a bit more time back...

Sixth is actually a very respectable position. We shouldn't turn our noses up at it.

There are certainly one or two touchy members on Waccoe. I've been a passive 'member' for about eight years because I sometimes like to see what fans of other clubs think, but have only posted about four times in total (each of which was very respectful). A few days before the game at the KP in November I was monitoring a pre-match thread but hadn't posted anything and was a bit surprised when another member noticed my username at the top of the thread, clicked on my profile, figured out that I support Leicester and had a rant at me for even being on the site. I mean, I can kind of understand it when folks get irritated by an opposition fan on the wind-up, but to lose your shit over somebody silently observing a thread takes some doing....

I remember reading that when Sporting signed him up he was considered such a hot prospect that they inserted a massive release clause in his contract. The fact that they’re prepared to let him go for much less suggests they’ve changed their mind about him.

Poor boy - this is utterly gut-wrenching. Yes, water is terrifying if you're a parent of young children. Yesterday we made an impromptu decision to walk along a canal towpath in Oxford with our six-year-old and 17-month-old. It was a lovely walk but I didn't enjoy a single minute of it as I was so scared of the older boy falling in despite my close attention or my other half somehow losing grip of the buggy (which she'd never do). When we left the path and resumed walking by road I felt an overwhelming sense of relief that we were all still alive...

Lots of teams have done that. There have been plenty of times when we've not looked very good for periods of a match, particularly in the first half, but then slowly imposed ourselves as the game went on. The Coventry game was following the script of soaking up the pressure from the home team before getting ourselves in front. If Fatawu had not been sent off, we'd have very likely won that game - probably by more than one goal.

In his post-match interview Maresca admitted that Middlesbrough had surprised us with their formation and the players struggled to adapt. Other teams will surely look at what they did and try to replicate it. Hopefully Enzo has a solution in mind for the next time it happens...

At Coventry, we looked very comfortable with 10v11 for most of the second half until we started to get tired and they eventually scored on 80mins or whatever it was. The collapse after that was poor, but I think it owed as much to exhaustion as to us 'wilting'.

Given that Maresca has hardly used Coady even against the weaker teams in the division, I’d say that the chances of him bringing him in to play against arguably the second best side after ourselves are pretty slim. On the latest BSLB podcast one of the regulars said that he’d heard that ’all was not rosy in the garden’ with Coady at the club, which I took to mean that he’s unhappy at his lack of playing time. I’ve no idea if this is true, but it makes sense. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him moved on in the summer.

How? He’s not going to play, is he?

Middlesbrough (H) 1-2 - Post-Match Thread
ClaphamFox replied to lnkstern's topic in Leicester City Forum
I hope they throw us out of the league entirely, bomb the KP to rubble, cover it over with tarmac and erect a sign saying “Here lies the remains of a once-proud football club that threw it all away with a 1-2 loss at home to Middlesbrough”.- 465 replies

It’s amazing what a bit of jeopardy will do.

He made a video to be shown in the event of his death: https://x.com/DrEricDing/status/1758492834917765197?s=20

Apparently Yunus would have to start 25 games for the obligation to buy him to be triggered. He's only started eight so far so that's clearly not going to happen. However, if the obligation isn't triggered we of course will still have the option to try to sign him at a lower fee if we see any potential in him... https://sportwitness.co.uk/miracle-needed-automatically-trigger-leicester-city-transfer-foxes-get-e1m-discount-doesnt/

They probably just starved him to death. He wrote about how they do this on twitter last year: He was very brave man to stand up to those murderous thugs and he paid the ultimate price. RIP.
-
He put far too much weight on that cross for Vardy. A bit more finesse and it would have been 3-0.

I have. Really good. We just need somebody willing to be a real life psychic hero assassin. Any volunteers? South Park parodied it once as I recall, with Cartman in the Christopher Walken role…

We can but dream, can’t we?

Old article, but I doubt the numbers have changed that much. Between 80-100 people die in the Thames every year, apparenty: https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2002/apr/24/1

If only Biden didn’t reinforce the impression described in the report every time he appears in public, eh?
-
But this isn’t a partisan attack from a political opponent- it’s a special counsel report on a legal issue. And whether you find it ‘dull’ or not, the way Biden comes across could significantly increase the chances of Trump winning the election in November. That’s a material outcome that will affect the whole world.
