Maresca wants us to play out from the back. Last night was an opportunity for the likes of Coady, Souttar and Justin to practice doing just that. If they'd have responded to Liverpool's press by hitting it longer (which would have been understandable in a league game), they'd have missed an opportunity to practice their passing against tough opponents. I suspect Maresca regarded the exercise as more important than the result, and personally I'm with him.

Quite possibly. I'm not sure if that was ever officially confirmed. I like Iheanacho but I've not been massively impressed with him this season - he's clearly behind Vardy in the pecking order at the moment. Hopefully he'll improve.

Not a chance this happens in January. It could only happen next summer if we fail to get promoted and Fulham stay up, but that seems highly unlikely.
