  1. Copy this post and paste it back into this thread in late February.
  2. A quick google search reveals that Keith Wyness has been opining on our PSR issues for many years. There are loads of articles of him going on about it. At various points he has predicted deductions of six points, nine points and "a minimum of 12 points". The only safe conclusion is that he literally has no idea. You could ask dog how many points we'll be deducted and take the number of times it barks as your answer, and it would be just as likely to come true as any prediction Wyness makes.
  3. Really? I read somewhere it started on Monday and have been wondering how it's been going over the past few days. Feel a bit cheated now
  4. Did that happen? Extraordinary if so…
  5. That should be Downes’ second yellow and therefore a red.
  6. He won’t be sacked until we appoint our new technical director - ie, probably around next October.
  7. We need him for Sheff Utd. Marti has given up on tonight.
  8. The substitutions at half-time made it very clear that our sole objective in the second half is to avoid an even bigger thrashing, not to get back into it.
  9. Marti’s trying to keep it down to six by playing without wingers and packing our box.
  10. Look I hope he goes on to do really well for us and I’m certainly not writing him off based on one performance, but he was an absolute bomb scare tonight until the ref put him out his misery.
  11. Aluko has looked completely out of his depth from the first whistle and that second yellow was clear. But his first was harsh and Downes committed a worse one without getting a card.
  12. Who is the co-commentator on Sky? He’s a ****.
  13. That foul was at least as bad as Aluko’s. This ref will give us absolutely nothing.
  14. Clear foul on Fatawu there. Previous one was offside. VAR would have ruled out both.
  15. He’s playing James out of position to accommodate Skipp. He really likes Skipp.
  16. Your original post referred to people ‘on here’ who didn’t want Daka to score. I’ve never seen anyone on FT write such a thing, though I’m happy to be corrected if you have any examples. I’m not disagreeing with your comments about the behaviour of certain very negative fans in the ground.
  17. The original post was daft. Literally nobody on here has said they don't want Daka to score goals for us.
  18. Southampton play three at the back and a packed midfield. Cifuentes is a cautious manager and it wouldn't surprise me if he decides to match their shape to avoid being overrun in the middle.
  19. Surely Southampton are more likely to offer the job to Eckert on a permanent basis than hire O'Neil or Martin?
  20. Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but I just been made aware that we've lost the second half 1-0 in our past five consecutive home games. Quite a record, that
  21. If it is true that the IC must set sanctions according to EFL rules, I agree that changes the picture. It’s interesting that a number of the football finance ‘experts’ (Maguire, Borson, etc) have missed this aspect and seem to assume that because the PL charged us and our fate will be determined by an IC, then previous PL cases (Everton, Forest) can be used as a guide, whereas in reality it seems Sheffield Wednesday is the more likely template. And yes, like you I think those additional charges were an attempt to pre-empt any plea for mitigation on our part. I hope Nick De Marco enjoyed a good night’s sleep and has a good breakfast this morning.
  22. You’ve got to start somewhere. After the debacle against Blackburn at home, most of us would have given anything for a few battling performances that got us some points even if the quality was low. Well in the three games since I think the team has shown a lot of resilience. Seven points from nine isn’t bad, especially as two of the three teams we played are in the top three. Yes, the quality was not great today, but that will improve as the team becomes more confident. And ugly wins are a great way to build confidence.
