Palace seemed to do better when they faced strongest sides as struggled in the group stages having to to through a play-offs. Maybe that was down to complacency and playing a weaker teaam?

I think a lot of the play was about the social and mental side of how he brought the team and nation together after previous periods of disconnect rather than the football itself and how well they did on the pitch.

Not really a fair competition as such but as said above Palace aren’t Chelsea who probably saw the tournament like a second team run out opportunity so fully deserve to celebrate. Also won a trophy to get into Europe originally which is kudos enough.
