Of course could be new manager impact, but I was definitely encouraged by what was shown in those games he took charge of. Not sure anyone really knows the full story at West Brom. Players weren’t paid for months, neither was he, owners haven’t put any money in in years. He’s got a squad that’s full of old school championship players and a few youngsters and he consistently gets them performing above teams who’ve invested an awful lot more. I struggle to see how someone who was tutored by Bielsa genuinely has a “boring style” also… he’s just dealing with what he’s got in front of him and doing very well with it! They’ve just beaten hull and drawn with Norwich. And we can all watch how they get on against a fantastic Sunderland side tomorrow. Certainly not against the idea!!

If you take it as a concept, they hired a very good manager and the best director of football in the world. Now we're not going to replicate that, but bringing in a manager and letting them decide who the DOF is a creating a structure that way.... is the same idea.

Potter took Kyle McCauley with him to Swansea, Brighton and then Chelsea. He's worked his way up the recruitment ladder and could be one he'd look to have as a DOF. Might still be a bit inexperienced though.

Not sure anyone would be able to handle it Question though, Potter has always said he wants his own DOF, it's obviously not going to be David Weir, Dan Ashworth or Paul Winstanley, so I wonder who he has in mind?

I'd love to know how they decided West Ham was Cat B and Brighton Cat C? Also once they've found out when games are scheduled why can't they change the categorising, no tickets have been sold yet so don't see why they can't. West Ham at 8:15 on a Tuesday, on TV, with barely any trains back anywhere should be Cat C or even some sort of exceptional Cat D

Just feel like Potter is exactly what we need. We need someone who is willing to build a completely new culture, starting from scratch and taking control. We're a club that crave identity, we loved being the counter attacking underdogs, when it went well we loved being the possession based overachievers, and to some extent the majority enjoyed being the completely dominent Enzoball Championship side. What we don't need is another stop gap who will just play any tactics to get results. Personally I hope we go all in for him. (and as part of that... move Rudkin into a different role)
