Given it’s all World Cup warm up stuff, wouldn’t it make sense to be in Dubai or something? All very odd -

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

The majority of successes we’ve had have skipped U21 altogether. To be honest if you’re good enough you probably should skip that level to go on loan or straight to first team. Does make you wonder what the point of the U21 level is really. Basically a holding pen for lads who are either released or sold. I wouldn’t mind if we had a similar coach and set up to first team, but right now it’s not fit for purpose. -
Love this good for you!

Yeah I thought it was odd of him to say that. For me JJ is the left sider, he's improved two games when coming on in that position for me. Seems an obvious like for like. I guess the wory is his own fitness, if we lose him too we're really stuffed.
-
I guess if he feels JJ is better on the right, we could just invert form the other side? So Ricky plays on the left and into midfield with JJ sticking on the right in the Doyle role?

Klopp has sent his assistant to do the presser today, think he tends to do that for cup games, he's also the one who has previewed the game on the liverpool website.

Wonder if we might see a bench appearance from Sammy/Will in the next month? We've got two games against Fulham coming up, an EFL trophy game and then Chelsea to finish October. Newcastle is the first November game, still showing as sold out on the site already don't believe that for a second! -

If it's who I think it is, Paul Cheney is the same also, teaching background. -
We've signed a player for the future so that other teams didn't get there first He happens to be injured at the minute Despite these two clear points lots of people are having a meltdown about us signing an injured player... despite the fact we don't currently need him.

I think all I can say is, fair play.... and how?

Like reducing the difficulty level on your favourite game while you get your eye back in

Guess the domino effect there was Palinha deal collapsing then?

So for what it's worth.... I think it's far too early in the season to be worrying about 'focussing on the league' and actually given that we've had a break from Sat to Weds and then don't play until Sunday lunch, I see no reason why he'd do anything other than make 4 or 5 changes like he has been doing for midweek league games. It's all about momentum and learning the style of play. We're in a league where you can win 7 in a row at the end of the season and jump from lower mid table to the play offs, it's ridiculous to be saying 'play the kids', we've no idea what's coming down the road, but surprisingly for the championship there's a rather large gap between us and 4th at this stage! We've got more than enough of a squad rotate and still be strong. Some area's are a little concerning for sure, for example I wouldn't play JJ if Doyle has got an injury. But other than that I think it'll just be like a normal midweek league game level of rotation. Absolutely no reason to change the goalkeeper either!

Was looking forward to going until I came in here

Fair play to their local reporter. Actually seems to challenge him on a few things

It’s quite impressive really that we managed to get Enzo after he’d already been headhunted by Southampton and all his mates from Man City are in charge there now. I don’t for a second think they really wanted Martin.

Is Alladyce some sort of traditional Arabic board game?

Yeah Yeboah has twin sons who are a bit older. Not really sure but on this kids Wiki it says he moved over to England with his parents from Italy as a youngster.

Can you imagine how horrendous it must be being his family? Gaslight central!!! I bet his wife is a shadow of her former self.

Have a feeling that Cannon is part of that plan long term, an out ball so to speak.

To be fair visionary Brendan stuck him there for a game too.... it's taken a good manager to work out his best place.

I mean he's definitely not Tony's son..... but he does look talented i'll give you that
