90% sure Jamie Maclaren is going there, so this doesn’t make sense to me at all.

1000% this. Urgency isn’t the opposite to patience. You can move the ball quickly without taking a risk to structure, or ignoring game plan. When you have 10 behind the ball, you have to let them make a mistake and open up space, or find the space yourself to allow chances to happen. People can say we were slow/lethargic at times, that’s down to not making subs. But it is also impossible to play HIGH OCTANE SEXY FOOTBALL for 95 minutes. It’s going to come in waves. This tactic and plan does work. It’s just when we’re having an off day it looks real bad.

I think the bit you’re missing is a lot of last years squad did finish 5th. So they’re not JUST deadwood and the wages could kind of be justified. I put a lot of this on Brendan and the management of Brendan. Freezing out Soyuncu/Vesty, not giving youth opportunities (I’m counting Iverson in this) to develop and sell, not playing to players strengths, and destroying the club culture, absolutely killed the player values. He turned players into deadwood.

This also shows what a terrible job the club did commercialising the club. FA Cup winners, top 7 constantly, there should be an increase in sponsorship/other revenue generators. Not helped by COVID destroying corporations marketing budgets at the time but Christ, there’s money left in the table for sure. Wages were too high, turnover then needs to be higher too Top. I’d rather take the ridiculous “Official Pyjama Partner of Leicester City” $ than have a points deduction.

Hands up, didn’t see your other responses. Communication internally is what I meant. Sets expectations with Enzo. Enzo’s commentary is understandable but hasn’t helped. Agreed with you no issues on the external comms.
-
But then isn’t his job to also manage and communicate expectations when it comes to transfers? He’s “just a director” but directors assume responsibility for the team underneath him.
-
I agree with you. There is one difference I’d make - being DOF for a “sustainably challenging the top 6” club is a very different job than being DOF for a relegation candidate. He passed as one of them, failed at the other, because it wasn’t “sustainable”. Him and Rodgers held hands into the shitshow, where if we didn’t make a single big sale a season, we were ****ed. Rudkin should get credit for getting us there, he’s just not the right person for the job based off what we see today. Inadequate replacements and not getting the business done early for Fofana, meaning Whelan had to step in, is not how to do business sustainably.

Souttar isn’t slow. He might not be rapid, but he is not slow. Socceroos Souttar has shown that time and time again.
-
Completely understand but still feel his leadership and personality has helped the dressing room refresh after the last few dire years. There is not ONE financial decision to blame here, it’s a myriad of overinflated wages for the Championship, which to be fair, we signed when we were finishing 5th two years in a row. Not being brave and rotating the squad THEN when it may have been easier to move the second string like Amartey/Praet is the mistake.
-
I know you’re saying “in hindsight” but who seriously thought Jannik would have the season he is having. Coady was an absolutely required signing and until he got injured in preseason we all thought he was #1.

Dear everyone who quoted me calling for Praet to stay in (I forgot Abdul was back forgive me)
-
Yunus on the wing for Kasey next game please. Keep Praet in.

I cannot argue with that fact but watching I believe that had more to do with JJ and Ricardo. He also replaced Wanya, who just wasn’t involved. It was a low bar to be better than. He improved the team this game. I am still judging based off everything we’ve seen from him, and I don’t see a top half Prem player in there. -

Just watched the full game Positives: For all the shit our academy get, we played a bunch of youngsters who were not bad. I think we’re overstating Cover’s game but he did not look out of place at all, which is a massive compliment to a first gamer. Jakub and Nelson were both excellent. Unfortunately for the both of them they won’t move up the pecking order based off these games, but they deserve more opportunities. Yunus was brilliant at taking the game on. Dennis scored would be very comfortable them playing more minutes with Winks based off this performance, if they stay fit. Marc, Vards and RickyP very good. Negatives: Doyle, Wanya deserved to be dragged off. McAteer I’m still not convinced with. Coady wasn’t brilliant, you’d hope his leadership would have pulled through in the first half but we were dog. Hamza was awful. -

Dennis Supremacy 😤 -
Two replacement options 1. Enzo has seen enough of Alves to push him in 2. Dennis taking us to the promised land and proving you all wrong 😤😤😤
-
Do Brighton actually need him for this season? I would take £35m if the transfer went through in June. Same FFP season
-
Two things I’m reading consistently in here 1. Subs need to be made earlier 2. We need better players for the Prem Substitute players by nature are ones who are not deemed good enough for the starting 11. If we take a starting 11 player off, a “worse” player comes on. That increases the “gap” in quality that the same people are whinging about. and NO ****ING SHIT we need to improve for the Prem. We have Jannik ****ing Vestergaard as our star CB, it’s not going to cut it. BUT FUNNILY ENOUGH we’ll have the money to do so, and with contract expiring, the space opens up more. Stop worrying about the Prem, and worry about this.
