Disjointed from start to finish. Only Fatawu, Ricardo and Winks come out with any credit. Everyone else was poor or worse.

Genuine 1/10 performance from Vardy

Ipswich 2-1 up

Referees playing the advantage even if the more advantageous outcome following the foul would have been the free kick. Happened countless times on Tuesday.

Strange game. Sunderland are comfortably the best team we've played between both boxes but we've had enough great chances to have scored 3 or 4 and for all their good play, Sunderland created several decent chances rather than gilt edged. With a decent Championship level striker they'd be in the play offs guaranteed. Main positive for me was Casadei. Looked much leaner and sharper than he has been and some of those bursting runs in the second half were really encouraging.

Was writing out a post then saw this and it Sums things up perfectly. He is in the perfect situation now, in a side dominating the ball where he is being asked to be a distributor first. He must really be enjoying his football now, as were hiding his weaknesses just enough, and making full use of what he's good at. Credit to him though as he could have downed tools, but his attitude has been right, and obviously Maresca deserves massive credit given 90% of us here, me included, would have happily bombed him out to any takers.

Their right back looks a real weak link. He knows he is slow so is dropping and giving Mavididi yards of space to work with.

Much deserved equaliser

Vestergaard doing a disservice to treacle there

Pawson should be taking a couple of weeks off. To not send Konate off, and to be too cowardly to hide behind VAR and not give that Liverpool penalty are just more examples about how shoddy the standard of officiating is right now.
-
Liverpool are going to be getting the rub of the green with these marginal decisions now given the fallout of the VAR shambles at Spurs. It's not a howler, but I very much doubt a Liverpool player at Anfield would have been dismissed in those circumstances
-
Not sure any verification of who was responsible makes much difference now. Each side will believe what it wants to believe.

I think avoiding a booking was on his mind v PNE. There was a situation 1st half where a PNE midfielder burst past him, and he could easily have brought him down but he very deliberately made a show of not making a challenge. Previous games he has had no qualms making the tactical foul for a yellow.

We've looked lightweight this second half.
-
Worrying signs with Casadei for me. Plays with his head down and takes such an incredibly long time to sort both his mind, and feet out in possession.

There is no way you can dress up any potential serious injury to valuable squad members as a blessing in disguise. I've not been overly impressed with Doyle overall, a few average wingers have skinned him far too easily, but he has his good qualities, and has played plenty of games at this level. JJ's long term fitness is a concern, and over a 46 game season we need as many first team ready players available as possible.

Seri as well. Thought he bossed the game at our place.

The biggest concern I have this season is Winks being injured for a period of time. He is so pivotal to the style, and we don't have anyone else with his skillset. Main thing I didn't know about him was how mobile he is. He can escape from tricky situations with a little drop of a shoulder and burst of acceleration.

Couple of hairy moments in a 5 minute spell in the first half but aside from that was good for the second game in a row. Being back at home where we need to make the running will be another good barometer. Vestergaard has benefitted in the last couple of fixtures by the team shape looking more secure against transition attacks, and the fact we've started to keep the ball a bit better. Pacy attackers were also well shackled by individuals (Justin v Sulemana, Hamza v Rowe). I'll be happy to eat a slice of humble pie if he maintains this level.
-
His brain is his best attribute. The decision making on and off the ball is really solid for someone who has played so little senior football.

We look a team again, that's the main takeaway, and massive credit to Maresca for making that so evident so quickly. 2nd half was scrappy, but never felt under huge pressure, even when Norwich started to get a head of steam. We didn't make good enough decisions in the final third which could have put the game to bed earlier, if that starts clicking we will be a formidable outfit. Sutton gushing over KDH, but Winks was imperious.
-
He hasn't been involved much but he has looked quite decent in flashes. Evidently a good attitude as well which helps.
-
Without being sparkling, that's about as cohesive as we've looked all season. Can get a sense the players are now getting used to the positional requirements of the system. Casadei should be hooked, he isn't sharp enough of mind and takes too long to sort his feet out, not a great combination. Would have said Nacho too but he improved last 15. Winks and Choudhury been impressive.
-
Would rather he have squared both of those situations, it was the percentage decision both times, but he's the type of player with whom we'll need to take the rough with the smooth as regards decision making. I like the way he carries himself, he does lots of things well and is good at finding and bursting into those pockets of space when they appear, he also has a bit of swagger in his dribbling/manipulation of the ball. He also puts his defensive shift in. Our options out wide now look stacked with the emergence of McAteer and the loan signings, and all have different characteristics.

I've done nothing but slate him but thought he was excellent this evening.
