Surely not sustainable

Snooker Update · Follow People see the trophies. They don’t see the battles I’ve had in my own head — and those were always the hardest to win.” At 40, I know what resilience truly means. I grew up with loss and struggle early in life, and snooker became more than a game — it was an escape, a way to hold on to something steady when everything else felt uncertain. My career has been about endurance. I wasn’t always the flashiest, but I was relentless. Frame after frame, match after match, I learned to outlast, to stay patient when others lost heart. That’s what brought me world titles, the nickname “The Jester from Leicester,” and the respect of those who know how tough this sport can be. But there’s another side people don’t always see. The days when depression weighed heavier than any opponent. When just getting to the table was a victory. I’ve learned that strength isn’t just about holding yourself together — it’s about admitting when you’re breaking, and finding a way forward anyway. Now, success means more than silverware. It means showing others that even in the darkest times, you can keep going. That scars don’t define you — how you carry them does. The lesson? Life, like snooker, isn’t about winning every frame. It’s about staying in the fight, steadying your mind, and believing you can still find a way — no matter how far behind you feel. #snooker #Update

Unless you're already known to the public in which case you can write any old rubbish they'll not be interested in you. Most unknowns self publish. You need to make yourself famous or have 3 trillion followers on some shitty media site. Try walking down the High Street naked just before you're due to finish it.

History of Leicestershire in Images Stuart Marbrook · Kimberley Road junction with St Phillips Road looking towards Holmfield Road. Picture is likely pre WW1. Taken relating to the GPO installing their network of telegraph poles(posts?) at the time. An early form of surveying/planning I am assuming. As you can see, the photo's relate to poles/numbers being marked on them and you can just see the spots marked on by the road. I checked earlier and there are still telegraph poles in these places. A pencil reference to 'GPO' is on the rear of a page. I haven't been able to find out anything so far about the GPO installations around the city. -
Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR

The PL like it because it increases the chance of one of those elite clubs winning Euro comps thus enhancing the status of the PL bringing in more money which mostly goes to the elite. Its purpose built vicious circle. -

There wasn't any H&S re vehicles back then rust boxes, no seat belts, no air bags and hand signals, people can't be bothered to flick a switch these days so using your arm through an open window with a handle winder, if you were lucky - no chance. My first vehicle was an Austin A35 Van and the passenger seat was held down by two tiny brackets my mate ended up in the back when I accelerated then braked approaching an island. -

Not sure if posted Morecambe FC · Follow We're excited to announce Lee Tomlin as the new Assistant Manager of Morecambe FC. Lee Tomlin joins Morecambe FC as Assistant Manager to Ashvir Singh Johal. After an accomplished playing career that saw him play across every league in the EFL and the National League, Tomlin looks to join forces with Ashvir Singh Johal and instil their philosophy upon the team. Our manager shared his thoughts on his new appointment and said: “Lee is someone I have known for a very long time. I knew that when I became a manager Lee was the person I wanted to be my assistant manager. He had a fantastic playing career and has played in all the divisions of English professional football, including the Premier League. He’s now gone into coaching after playing, and he’s worked at some great clubs. Lee has experience at Leicester City and then he was at Sheffield United so for me to bring him here as assistant manager is something that I’m really proud of. The Manager added: “Lee’s expertise of the game and playing at the highest level, that’s something that I will tap into, and he’s going to be a big part of our coaching team but straight away you can see his mentality, how he is around the place, how he is with the players. “He is someone that I can trust to take use to the next level so I’m really looking forward to working with him and I think he is someone that will add real value to our team.” Lee Tomlin will be on the touchline this weekend for our first game at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium against Altrincham FC.

History of Leicestershire in Images Stuart Marbrook · An interesting view of a now busy road. Picture is likely pre WW1. Only the house on the right could give the scene away! Do you recognise it? Possibly taken relating to the GPO installing their network of telegraph poles(posts?) at the time. An early form of surveying/planning I am assuming. The photo's do relate to poles/numbers being marked on them - and a pencil reference to 'GPO' on the rear of a page. Edit; Location map added in the comments below. -

Now I'm wondering if any other roads were renamed also where does Carisbrooke come from? -
The biggest impact he made was saying the team wasn't good enough which totally undermined it and is still being felt to this day.

We've still got Battenberg cake, would it sell as well if it was known as the Carisbrooke Cake Royal Connection: The most common theory links the cake's creation to the marriage of Princess Victoria (Queen Victoria's granddaughter) to Prince Louis of Battenberg in 1884. -

Teams like ourselves Brighton, Palace whoever's doing good at the time take talent from teams below us. It's not that they take them that's a problem it's that they take them and often don't even use them as they have so many already as the risk of them not working is so much less. Plus they can always sell them probably at a profit as they are now viewed as 'elite' players. Happens at Academy levle as well.
