It's going to be Ruud? https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/ruud-van-nistelrooy-sets-out-10164087 Ruud van Nistelrooy sets out plan for Leicester City identity and summer transfer targets The manager spoke last week about the types of players he'd like to see the club focus on this summer transfer window as he looks to build a squad that meet his standards ByJordan Blackwell 07:00, 8 MAY 2025 Robust players with the potential to develop should form the identity of the Leicester City squad and inform their summer transfer business, Ruud van Nistelrooy believes. Rebuilding the squad in line with a Championship budget is one of the biggest tasks City face this summer, and van Nistelrooy, should he remain in charge, knows the kinds of players he wants. The Dutchman has been reluctant to publicly share his full plan for how he believes City should move into the future, but has dropped some clues while he waits for the club to show him they’re on the same page. He’s previously said he would like homegrown talents to form the foundations of the squad, and has now revealed he would want young, physically strong players to be targeted in the transfer window. Raising the standards has been a big topic in the camp during van Nistelrooy’s tenure and he said he has tried to make the team fitter since taking charge. Going forward, he wants the club to bring in players who have the physical attributes to prosper. Asked last week if he felt he’d needed to make the squad fitter, van Nistelrooy replied: “Yes.” Then asked if he felt the team had not been fit enough upon his arrival, he said: “No, but I felt there were possibilities to improve. “Together with the people here, there are so many possibilities to make things better and improve. That was one of them, of many. “Talking about standards, that’s part of that. You can speak about diet, training intensity, strength and conditioning, all the programmes with the professionals we have here, it’s been something we’ve been working on.” It remains to be seen if van Nistelrooy will lead the team in the Championship, and he cast doubt over that after City’s 2-0 win against Southampton. But if he is kept on, he wants players that have the mentality and fitness to meet his standards. “You need to be the fitter team,” he said. “Also in combination with recruitment, it’s important to get physically strong, robust players in, those at a certain age who can develop and have the mindset of what we’re trying to implement. “That’s what part of our ID is that I shared in moving forward.”

https://eflanalysis.com/transfers/leicester-city-among-four-championship-clubs-circling-manchester-united-defender-hes-been-told-he-can-leave/ Leicester City among four Championship clubs circling Manchester United defender, he’s been told he can leave Ailsa Cowen Thu 8 May 2025 9:18, UK EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that one Manchester United youngster is attracting a lot of attention and hasn’t even packed his bags yet. The Red Devils academy graduate is confirmed to be leaving Old Trafford this summer. The Bolton-born teenager was signed by United from Morecambe at the age of 16. He has had a successful time at the club but has been allowed to move on after being part of United’s all-conquering double-winning Academy side from last year. He spent the latter half of this season on loan at Rochdale in the National League – as he gained valuable first-team experience. The youngster has already attracted interest from clubs including newly relegated Leicester City, Millwall, Derby County, and recently promoted Wrexham. Jack Kingdon could be heading to the Championship EFL Analysis understands that a host of Championship clubs are showing an interest in Manchester United defender Jack Kingdon. We have information from transfer expert Graeme Bailey to suggest a number of sides are already taking an interest in the Scottish youth international. The likes of Leicester, Millwall, Derby and Wrexham are all clubs who would be keen for his experience at a big club like United, despite his young age. Seeking an immediate Premier League return after conceding 76 goals in 35 matches (stat via transfermarkt), the Foxes, who could potentially replace Ruud van Nistelrooy with a history-making Championship manager, may find that a hungry young defender like Kingdon is exactly the new legs their defensive line requires. Having both experienced seasons where they narrowly missed key outcomes – Derby County narrowly avoided relegation and Millwall just missed the play-offs – both clubs arguably stand to gain from defensive reinforcements, a sentiment perhaps echoed in Ebou Adams’ tribute to the “amazing” John Eustace following Derby County’s “miracle.” Whereas the likes of Wrexham, the pull of a Hollywood backing could be enough to swing the youngster to a new, upcoming challenge. Jack Kingdon’s experience and journey to Manchester United Kingdon joined Rochdale on loan in January after four years with Manchester United, arriving from Morecambe’s academy in 2020. The now 19-year-old lifted the Under-18 Premier League title last season, signing his first professional deal in July. A former Scotland U-18 captain who has trained with United’s first team and made 10 U-21 appearances this season, Kingdon’s development earned him his first loan move for senior experience. He previously gained first-team environment exposure through United’s Pro Experience Scheme, including a stint training with Altrincham in the 2022/23 season, where he featured in the Cheshire Senior Cup. Kingdon has already played at Rochdale’s Crown Oil Arena this season, completing 90 minutes for Manchester United against Dale in the National League Cup.

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ruud-van-nistelrooy-issues-jeremy-10161657 Ruud van Nistelrooy issues Jeremy Monga reminder amid calls for Leicester City starlet to start The 15-year-old has now played four Premier League matches in what has been an astonishingly quick rise for a player who still has to bring his school uniform to training Sport ByJordan Blackwell Jeremy Monga’s confidence is growing but Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is keen to stress he’s still just a schoolkid who needs time to process his astonishingly quick rise to the Premier League. Fifteen-year-old Monga has now played four senior matches for City, his 20 minutes as a substitute against Southampton marking his longest outing yet. Van Nistelrooy says those minutes are “vital” for his development, but it’s not enough for some fans who want to see Monga, as a potential superstar of the future, in the starting 11. But van Nistelrooy, who promoted Monga to the first team after scrapping his initial plan to protect him until next season, is bearing in mind how overwhelming the situation may be for such a young player. “I agree that he looked more confident,” van Nistelrooy said, assessing Monga’s appearance against Southampton. “He took on a couple of players, he got himself out of tight situations, he was defending, as well, with the full-back. “Of course, he’s a 15-year-old kid who is preparing his GCSEs, showing up for training with his school uniform and his tie. “Can you imagine what that does if you’re in the Premier League? Can you imagine how you have to process that at such a young age? “It's his fourth appearance and those appearances help him to settle. The experienced players help him a lot. Those are vital minutes for him and his development.” Monga became the second-youngest player in Premier League history when he made his debut last month, behind only Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri. However, Nwaneri did not play again until he was 16, and so Monga is forging a new path for young talents in the Premier League. His ability has attracted widespread interest with Manchester City understood to be favourites to sign Monga should he leave Leicester. But he can’t sign a professional contract anywhere until he turns 17 in July 2026. He’s not the only young talent coming through at City. Sixteen-year-old forward Jake Evans made his home debut against the Saints. Van Nistelrooy added: “Jake’s minutes were another step for him to get used to the level and the stadium. He did a practice interview after the game, so we’re preparing them in all ways possible.”

Story of Leicester Victory Day Parade, Charles Street, 1945. Shortly after Victory Day, in May 1945, there was a parade organised in Leicester. The parade involved the many civilian and military workers who supported the war effort. They paraded on foot, on floats and with vehicles in front of the Lord Mayor outside City Hall. Huge crowds of locals came to support and celebrate what was an incredibly important day. This photo shows an armoured vehicle parading past the saluting Lord Mayor, in front of City Hall on Charles Street. https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/tottenham-make-13m-bid-to-sign-leicester-city-wonderkid/ Tottenham have set their sights on yet another teenage prospect, with a bold £13m bid already lodged as they look to raid Leicester City for one of their most exciting young talents. Tottenham Hotspur are no strangers when it comes to signing youngsters, with the Lilywhites bringing in a few ahead of this season. We saw Spurs splash £40m on Archie Gray, after the midfielder impressed at Leeds United in the Championship last season. It looks like money well spent, as Gray picked up the Young Player of the Year award at the London Awards in only his first season in north London.

Would make a good anthem. To dream the impossible dream To fight the unbeatable foe To bear with unbearable sorrow To run where the brave dare not go To right the unrightable wrong To love pure and chaste from afar To try when your arms are too weary To reach the unreachable star This is my quest to follow that star No matter how hopeless, no matter how far To fight for the right without question or pause To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest That my heart will lie peaceful and calm When I'm laid to my rest And the world will be better for this That one man, scorned and covered with scars Still strove with his last ounce of courage To fight the unbeatable foe To reach the unreachable star

Keep and suffer the penalties we will need players like him to stage any sort of a recovery. I certainly don’t trust the club to find decent replacements even if there are any in the bargain basement bucket.

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/inside-king-power-stadium-linked-10157234 By Jordan Blackwell Under-18s midfielder back after year out One of City’s up-and-coming talents is back in action after nearly a year out. Ryan Donnelly was signed by City from Dungannon Swifts two years ago after he’d made his senior debut in Northern Ireland aged just 16. Last season, no player featured more often for City’s Under-18s, but right at the end of the campaign, Donnelly suffered an ACL tear. After missing last summer’s Under-19 Euros in which Northern Ireland were hosts, and then spending the past 12 months in rehab, he’s now fit again. The 18-year-old made his first start for City’s Under-18s in the weekend just gone, having made his comeback as a substitute a week earlier. The matches didn’t go to plan though, with City losing 6-1 to Southampton on Saturday, having been thumped 7-0 by Spurs a week earlier. -

I'd rather we kept our best players and suffered any points deduction. I'm not convinced we'd reap enough ££s to avoid punishment anyway. Even if we did with such a weakened team and no money to recruit we're more likely to get relegated again than if we keep the best and take the points deduction. Keeping the best means any rebuild starts on proper foundations. Of course it needs to be coupled with a new DoF and manager.

Agree although Youri wouldn't move anyway, Trent AA for Liverpool has just confirmed he's leaving for nothing. Top players have got football by the curlies.

Both Stoke City and Leicester City struck transfer gold with German signing When Robert Huth arrived in the Premier League as a teenager, few would have predicted the long-lasting impact that he would have on the league. Signed by Chelsea in 2001 from Union Berlin, Huth was a powerful, no-nonsense centre back who did the defensive basics to an extremely high level. While he played 42 times at Chelsea, winning two Premier Leagues, his impacts at Stoke City and Leicester City leave him as one of the most unexpected stars of the Premier League era, and a title winner in Leicester's historic 2015/16 triumph. A proper 'Stoke' player At Stoke City, Huth became a fan favourite for his uncompromising style of play, which became a trademark of Tony Pulis' side at the time. Signed by Pulis in 2009 for a then club-record fee of £5 million, the German quickly became a key part of the Potters' robust back line. He managed to chip in with crucial goals as well, including a brace against Sunderland which included a 90th minute winner in a 3-2 victory. His presence became key as Stoke enjoyed a sustained run in the Premier League as well as reaching the FA Cup final in 2011, being narrowly beaten by Manchester City at Wembley. While the Potters deserve credit for giving Huth a chance, Leicester is the club with whom the German enjoyed the most success. Huth's fairytale time at Leicester City The term 'fairytale' is often overused in football and can sometimes become a bit of a cliche, but if anything epitomises the word more than anything, it was Leicester City's title-winning 2015/16 season. Huth joined the Foxes initially on loan for the end of the 2014/15 season and helped Nigel Pearson's side to one of the most miraculous escapes from relegation. They won seven of their last nine games to secure survival, becoming only the third team ever to stay up after being bottom at Christmas. After his move was made permanent that summer, no one could have expected what was to come. Leicester pulled off one of the most remarkable shocks in Premier League history when they overcame 5000/1 odds to win the title. Huth was a colossus at the heart of Leicester’s backline, forming a formidable partnership with Wes Morgan. Together, they embodied the grit and resilience that defined Leicester's title win. The German played 35 of 38 league games that season, scoring crucial goals at times, including a brace in the 3-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad, which many would say was the moment the football world began to truly believe in the Foxes’ title credentials. Retiring in 2018, Robert Huth may not have had the flair of some of his compatriots, but few German exports have had such a profound impact on English football. Both Stoke City and Leicester City will remember him not just as a great signing, but as a pivotal figure in two of the most memorable chapters in their respective histories.

https://thepeoplesperson.com/2025/05/05/manchester-united-make-surprise-offer-for-leicester-city-sensation-jake-evans-293639/ Manchester United make surprise offer for Leicester City sensation Jake Evans written by Vishal Singh 05/05/2025 Manchester United battle Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Leicester City’s Jake Evans, as per reports. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester are heading to the Championship after a dreadful season in England’s top flight. However, the emergence of several young talents is being seen as a major positive and could help the Foxes return back to the Premier League quickly. 20-year-old attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, who joined Leicester last summer, has earned plenty of plaudits for his strong presence in and out of possession. The likes of Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans have also caught the attention of fans and pundits alike after making their senior debuts in the second half of the campaign. Having said that, it is going to be very difficult for Leicester to keep hold of their exciting prospects, as a number of Premier League clubs are preparing to take advantage of their situation. Evans, in particular, has landed on United’s radar, as per a report in Spain. According to Fichajes, United are looking to sign the 16-year-old prodigy this summer. It is claimed that the Red Devils have offered around €15 million (£12.78m) for the England U16 international. Evans is capable of playing all across the front line but he mainly thrives as a striker or a right-winger. He has scored an impressive 10 goals in 14 Premier League 2 appearances this term, leading to suggestions that he could become heir to Jamie Vardy’s throne at King Power Stadium. It is understood that ex-United striker Van Nistelrooy has “complete confidence” in Evans’ abilities and believes the starlet with immense potential could spearhead Leicester’s attack in the future. It is suggested that United face competition from Spurs for the youngster’s services. The North Londoners are also prepared to make a significant offer to win the race for the Leicester wonderkid. Meanwhile, United are also going head-to-head with Chelsea for Blackburn Rovers gem Igor Tyjon but the Mancunians have already seen their opening bid turned down by the Championship side.
