  1. Leicester City chasing Manchester United starlet Jack Fletcher amid the chaos at King Power Stadium Reports suggest the LE2 outfit are in fact leading the chase for Manchester United "wonderkid" Jack Fletcher. The 18-year-old midfielder, who is son of United legend Darren Fletcher, is a young athlete of immense technical poise. He recently tasted senior football under the lights at Old Trafford roo. For a Leicester side devoid of a creative spark, metal in the middle and currently managed by caretaker Andy King, Fletcher’s arrival would provide a desperate injection of youthful energy. Is a loan viable? Given Leicester’s financial handcuffs, a temporary deal for a hungry teenager is perhaps the only realistic path forward. "Leicester City are leading the race to sign Man Utd wonderkid Jack Fletcher on loan, with several other Championship clubs also interested. The technically gifted midfielder is seen as a future star and a loan move is viewed as the next step for his development. Leicester's need for midfield creativity has strengthened their resolve to secure his signature." Sports Boom (Friday) While United are wary of sending their most promising assets into a toxic environment, the promise of immediate, high-pressure minutes makes this a credible claim (yet low tier). Whether one youngster can steady a sinking ship remains to be seen. Although, for the Foxes, Fletcher represents a rare chance to change the narrative before the window slams shut. https://foxesofleicester.com/leicester-leading-transfer-race-for-jack-fletcher-amid-king-power-chaos

  5. Graham Hulme Old postcard view of London Road with Victoria Park on the left, early 1900s. The junction on the left would seem to be at the turn for Victoria Park Road and a traffic island is now situated at this spot on London Road, with Mayfield Road off to the right. Just seen on the extreme left hand edge of the picture is the old Victoria Park Pavilion. The old Pavilion was constructed in 1866 and was used as the grandstand for the Leicester Races which were held here until 1883. The Pavilion was designed by the Borough Surveyor Edward L. Stephens who was also the architect of the former Towers Hospital (1869). As well as the races, the Pavilion was used for other sports events on the park and had changing rooms and a cafe. In November 1940 the Pavilion was severely damaged by a parachute mine which had been dropped by a German bomber. The mine caused over £11, 000 worth of damage and the Pavilion was subsequently demolished. Temporary wooden and prefabricated huts were later used to house dressing rooms for football and cricket players and to store their equipment. The temporary structures were eventually replaced by the present pavilion in 1958. The modern pavilion was designed by the City Architect, J. H. Lloyd Owen, and cost about £71,000 to build. It was officially opened by the Lord Mayor, Sidney Brown, on 10th December 1958.

Morecambe part company with manager Johal Ashvir Singh Johal on the touchline during his time as Morecambe manager Ashvir Singh Johal previously worked alongside Como boss Cesc Fabregas Morecambe have parted company with manager Ashvir Singh Johal with the club second from bottom in the National League table. The Shrimps won just five out of 28 games under Johal and are five points adrift of the safety line with 18 games remaining. Johal took charge following Panjab Warriors' takeover last August. It came after a chaotic period which saw them relegated from the English Football League, while off-field issues plagued their pre-season and led to their suspension from the National League. "Ashvir joined the Shrimps during a challenging period and has worked tirelessly alongside his staff to stabilise the squad, integrate new players, and represent the club with professionalism and integrity both on and off the pitch," a club statement said. "The Board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Ashvir for his commitment, dedication, and the way he has conducted himself throughout his time. He leaves with our best wishes for the future." Assistant manager Lee Tomlin, alongside first team coach Neil Wainright, will take charge of the club while they begin the process of finding a new manager. Having swiftly assembled a squad to contest the 2025-26 season, Morecambe battled to a 2-1 win at home to Altrincham to kick their campaign off. Since then they have been on the receiving end of 17 league defeats and Johal's departure coincides with a five-game winless run in the National League as they look to avoid successive relegations which would take them into regional football for the first time since 1995.

  12. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-transfer-latest-valencia-10783890 Valencia rookie Raúl Jiménez has been linked with a move to City, potentially in the summer. Spanish outlet AS claims City made an ‘interesting’ offer to the 19-year-old who is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to sign with an overseas club. Get More of Our News on Google Set Leicestershire Live as a 'Preferred Source' to get quicker access to the news you value. The report claims the Foxes and Italian outfit Modena have made overtures to the teenager, albeit AS seem to think City are still a Premier League club. Anyway, all that could be academic with the ‘keeper set to sign a contract extension that will see him stay at Valencia until at least June 2028. They claim the terms would include a €60million release clause. https://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-city-make-attractive-offer-to-spanish-rising-star-e60m-step-to-trouble-foxes/ Leicester City have made ‘attractive offer’ to youngster Leicester City are interested in Valencia's Raúl Jiménez According to the newspaper, the English and the Italian clubs have made ‘attractive offers’ to the Spain U20 international. He will not take their proposals into consideration as his desire is to continue with Los Ches. Valencia want to renew his contract until 2028 and include a €60m release clause. AS now state he will sign an extension soon, bringing an ‘end to a drawn-out saga’. With his renewal, Carlos Corberán’s side avoid risk losing him to Leicester City or another club. If the Championship side are still keen, it’s very unlikely they’d need to pay €60m. That is a marker to protect Valencia.

  17. https://www.givemesport.com/breaking-leicester-eyeing-former-wolves-boss-vitor-pereira/ Leicester City are reportedly eyeing a move to appoint former Wolves manager Vitor Pereira, according to journalist Liam Keen. Leicester are in the market for a new manager after Marti Cifuentes was relieved of his duties. The Foxes are struggling in the bottom half of the Championship table, despite the expectation that they would be battling towards the promotion places following their relegation from the Premier League. Leicester currently find themselves sitting in 14th position, winning just once in their previous five league games. Their defeat last time out was the final straw for Cifuentes, losing 2-1 at home to Oxford United, who are currently second bottom in the Championship even after their victory. Pereira was relieved of his duties as Wolves manager earlier in the campaign, with the Midlands club failing to win a game under his tutelage this season. The 57-year-old signed a new deal at Wolves in September, despite their struggles, but he was sacked less than two months later, with Wolves sitting on two points at the time. During the 2024/2025 campaign, Pereira deserved plenty of credit for turning things around. He took over in December with the Midlands club in 19th place, before comfortably ending the campaign 17 points above Leicester in the final place of the relegation zone.
  18. We can dream that he outshines Rudkin and Top sees it's time to move him out. He'll be here until KP sells.
  19. A good TD / CD will likely be in employment and have to give 3+ months notice which would be in addition to finding them in the first place. I'd rather it took a bit of time as it's more likely to indicate we're getting someone half decent with the relevant experience.
