  1. They should split it and have a pre tour no for the weaker teams where the top two qualify to play with the big boys. They could happen consecutively with just a shorr break in between. But the money men would say the pre tour I wouldn’t generate enough £s

  5. When Leicester was seen as an innovative, modern thriving city we were often the first to break records now we're bottom of the list in terms of government funding and probably investment. The downside was many long standing classy looking building were demolished and replaced by shitty 60s cheap cardboard boxes that wouldn't last 30 years like The International Hotel on Humberstone Gate, City Council Offices in Welford Place and sadly we're still building similar today hence my fear is you knock down the Car Park and end up with a rectangular block that again wont last 30 years. The Council definitely has got the £s to buy and demolish it let alone make a public space. They forgot the 36 lane Bowling Alley he largest single floor one in the UK and probably outside of the USA.

  14. Robert Huth on Leicester City's downfall, recruitment, fanbase anger and what's next | Leicestershire Live Robert Huth on Leicester City's downfall, recruitment, fanbase anger and what's next Robert Huth speaks to LeicestershireLive on Leicester City's drop from the Premier League to League One and what needs to happen for them to bring back the glory days Josh Holland Leicester City correspondent 07:00, 13 Jun 2026 Leicester City title-winner Robert Huth believes the club must focus on stabilising themselves after back-to-back relegations from the Premier League to League One. The Foxes will play in the third tier of English football for only the second time in their history after last season's disaster in the Championship. After their nine-year stay in the Premier League - which included them pulling off one of the games greatest ever achievements in 2016 - came to an end in 2023, the club have failed to recover and find themselves at their lowest point. City will go into the 2026/27 season as one of the favourites to win the League One title, just as they were in 2008 when they were last at this level. Preparations for the new campaign will begin in a few weeks time, with the search for a new manager appearing to be close to reaching its conclusion. Huth, who joined City in 2015 and played huge roles in the Premier League title win and run to the Champions League quarter-final, has stressed the importance of everyone at the club coming to terms with the reality of League One. Speaking to LeicestershireLive (via LeoVegas), the former defender explained the key principles needed for the club to rebuild after a "really difficult couple of years.". He said: "The first thing Leicester need to do is park the idea of being a Premier League club. Put it to one side and forget about it for a while. "That’s not being disrespectful — it’s just reality. Right now, you’re a League One club. The objective is to get back into the Championship. Let’s not talk about where the club might be in ten years’ time. Let’s focus on stabilising things first. "There are still questions about recruitment and, at the moment, there’s still no manager. What supporters want to see is what Leicester had in the past: a genuine connection between the players and the fans. At its simplest level, supporters want to see players fighting for the club. What does that look like? It means not giving up, competing, rolling your sleeves up, fighting for every point and every win. That’s something that’s been missing over the last few seasons. I’ve never known Leicester to feel so disconnected between the players and the supporters. So how do you bring them back together? "You create a style of play that supporters can identify with. High intensity, high energy, tackles, commitment, getting people off their seats. A fast winger, a quick striker, exciting football. "At times it’s felt too passive. Reconnecting with the fans is the most important thing. Once you get the atmosphere back in the stadium, you can build from there." The fallout between supporters and the hierarchy has reached boiling point in recent years, with many opting against attending games last season and others deciding against renewing their season tickets - although more than 22,000 were still sold for next season. Huth admits that the toxicity and displeasure towards the ownership is difficult to see, but believes a revival is still possible right now. "Over the last couple of years the atmosphere has become toxic at times," he added. "There have been banners, protests and marches. It’s not nice to see because I only really know the good times at Leicester — full houses every home game, incredible away support and a great connection between the team and the fans. "There is a way back. The club has done it before. When the Srivaddhanaprabha family took over around 15 years ago, Leicester were in League One then as well. It’s definitely possible, but it won’t be as straightforward as people think. League One will be incredibly difficult. "Teams will come to Leicester, see the stadium and the facilities, and it will feel like their cup final. They’ll raise their level. Leicester need to understand where they are right now and not underestimate the challenge. There will be ups and downs. They’re not going to win every game. "But if they can find consistency and build momentum, then who knows? We’ve seen teams do that before. Once momentum starts building, it can carry you a long way."

  16. Ok not us but the language sounds oh so familiar Tractor Guy · Follow So after weeks of happy clappers proclaiming “he’ll never leave” and “he’s got a job to do here”, and shouting down anyone who pointed out he was off, McKenna has finally gone. It was apparent from his end-of-season comments that he was unhappy with how last season was handled. He said it was his hardest yet to due the personnel changes being forced onto the club by Ashton at the top, meaning we entered the season on the back foot and unsettled an established side. It is widely believed now that the Farage incident, where the club openly lied to the fans about it initially, was the final straw. He (and Ipswich) was expecting to be in line for another job, with his team pushing for Fulham, but with Fulham not biting the best way around the compensation thing, and not having to potentially have another poor season in the top flight with Ipswich, was to stand down, come back unblemished and unhindered by the £8million compensation. The stumbling block (the compensation) allowing him to move to boyhood club Celtic has now been removed, with Martin O'Neill set to retire again in a year, allowing McKenna a dream move to Glasgow. This is the plan. Ipswich, however, go into the Premier League season, scraping the barrel for a manager with an egomaniac CEO and Chairman in charge, of course happy clappers, despite Farage-gate, will lap up the “family reasons” and “break” story as it fits their narrative; however, you would have to be totally naive, and a fool, to believe that. This is another mess of Ashton's making, and while we got away with a promotion last season due to the Championship being so weak, Ashton's luck will soon run out, especially now his golden boy has escaped his clutches. People don’t quit jobs, they quit employers. McKenna has escaped Ashton's toxicity with his reputation intact; he acted for himself; however, Ipswich Town will pay the price for this long-term. However, another bad season in the top flight, without the appreciation for McKenna acting as a shield, will shine a light on Ashton, and he will be the one blamed when we drop. The happy clappers, as ever, are wrong, but they will never admit that. “He’s going nowhere, he loves it here, kids are settled. Job to do.” Yeah, right. @followers #Ipswich #ipswichtown #ipswichtownfc #PremierLeague #EPL #CelticFC

Rockin' Golden Years · Follow Written as a message to Black Britons being told to go home — and Lennon thought it was about him.Get Back began its life as something far more pointed than the joyful rocker the world knows. Paul McCartney's original draft — recorded in January 1969 during the Let It Be sessions — contained verses directly satirising anti-immigrant sentiment in Britain, referencing Enoch Powell's notorious Rivers of Blood speech. The satirical edge was eventually stripped back, leaving the universal groove. Paul McCartney - Get Back Find the song in the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭!
