  1. No short people/kids except on the front row is certainly a take, and way to miss the point. People around the ground will stand on their seat for moments throughout the game, that's completely normal behaviour. The difference between them and the UFS lad getting the six game ban is, at best, the same difference as standing during a promising attack and "persistent standing", and anyone with half a sense as to what football is like nowadays wouldn't jump straight to a six game ban for persistent standing rather than just having a quite word, don't do it again etc.
  2. Corporate wants you to find the difference between these two pictures
  3. As a wee-un I used to stand on the seat at every corner so I could see. Are you going to suggest a six game ban would have made sense for a 10yr old wanting to watch the game? Or are we going for double standards because you'd like people who don't support the way you'd like to be banned?
  4. What they mean is next time prem officials are in town for a game they'll find their car up on bricks
  5. Nah, not enough moaning that he's not from villas academy, the sole source of talent, for it to be Ben Petty
  6. I mean given the metric shitton of lobbyist money that goes into keeping things in the shitter so megacorps can keep rolling in cash, our politicians are not interested in actually addressing "the wretched state of our country and the world". Happens with basically all governing bodies, it's why man city will probably get away with a much lesser punishment that would warrant given their offences, because the PL and FA don't want to lose their revenue stream from man city
  7. I mean technically? The 115 charges cover 2009-2018 so 2013 is around the midpoint of that.
  8. Hoes mad, they say, while being very calm and even handed...
  9. "competitive salary" aka **** all. If it weren't derisory you'd state it straight up
  10. Unlikely. While the Sheffield warehouses were dodgy af, we were cleared of knowingly having breached the rules. Paid a fine as a result of having breached them due to a "misinterpretation" and the EFL tightened the rules up. Different kettle of fish to Everton now
  11. Yes it did. During the three year period they breached the rules, they signed a bunch of players who played a key role in them staying up. You pointed out that they were being investigated last season but appealed so the punishment is now, so effectively they also deferred the punishment to a more convenient time.
  12. the squad they assembled through breaching the PSR didn't all leave before the start of last season. Their cheating gave them a squad that was capable of staying up at our expense last season. Why people are so determined to give them leeway absolutely baffles me
  13. Simple. They signed Doucoure during the time period they're being cited for. He scored the winner on the last day to keep them up. There's no "this player took them over the threshold" because deals are spread across multiple different payments, some perfomance based, and amortised across contract length, so the question is did players signed in that period, who all contributed to them going other the threshold, contribute to their survival, and the answer is unequivocally yes.
  14. prize money for finishing 18th rather than 19th presumably?
  15. I mean that's the point isn't it? If we'd have ignored the rules like everton then we would have stayed up (if nothing else, Rodgers wouldn't have thrown a hissy fit on opening day v Brentford and deliberately thrown away two points). It'll be nothing because Man Citys owners have publically said they'd rather spend £50m on lawyers to challenge a £5m fine than pay it. They'll go to court and hold it up so long it'll be timebarred, like with UEFA. Why time barring isn't from when the case is bought to stop this underhanded bollocks IDK.
  16. Did they finish in the final relegation position and so would have stayed up if everton had been deducted the points and finished below them, yes or no?
  17. I mean yes they do, but also did Leeds or Southampton finish in the final relegation spot?
  18. Come on, you're not this oblivious. We were god awful yes, no-one is denying that, but Everton cheated massively. Without that they wouldn't have picked up the two extra points and would have gone down instead of us. Hence, their cheating kept them up at the expense of us instead. We'd have been dogshit and finished 17th instead
  19. eyyy get ****ed Everton you cheating bastards. 10 point penalty applied https://theathletic.com/4997629/2023/11/17/everton-premier-league-points-penalty-ffp/
  20. Couple of used to play for us in this testimonial that we'd all rather forget about. Rab Douglas as bad as he ever was
  21. He says they twice and we once. We to refer to the club having good results and "they've been flying". Pretty obvious that they means the starting lineup rather than being a hidden "I actually want out" meaning
  22. If that were the case he wouldn't have come on for 5 minutes vs Sunderland
  23. She's still working her way back from serious injury, it's about managing her minutes by both us and Canada right now
  24. pretty much will be until there's significant investment from other clubs and/or a salary cap etc. Look at Liverpool, champions a decade or so ago then fell away massively because FSG pulled investment while Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal poured it in. Previously biggish teams like Donny Belles and Birmingham languishing in the lower tiers.. Needs huge investment to catch up with them, and this is our 4th season as a professional outfit. We're making improvements but we'd need to pour a lot more money in to catch up.
  25. I mean no, he's doing a reasonable job even if this second half has been abysmal
