  1. The change of ownerships in various shops hasn’t helped matters imo, you’ve had shops that have been on Narborough Road for 20-30-40 years move on in recent years, which then get replaced by fast food places and food supermarkets. Narborough Road has always been known for it’s diversity, but you’ve certainly had an increase of various nationalities over the last 10 years or so. Crime incidents, it’s difficult to pinpoint the rise for that, drug use has certainly picked up too recently. I went on Narborough Road a few weeks ago near the new Morrisons(Old Co-Op) and there was a woman completely off her head on something. Further down, as I touched on earlier, it’s even worse.
  2. Great observation I live not far away from the KFC, I’d describe that area as the medium part of Narborough Road, could be better, could be worse. But I’ve mentioned to neighbours and friends quite recently, as soon as you go under the bridge where Iceland is, all the way to the cut off to Braunstone Gate it’s in an absolute terrible state. Some shops have changed hands in recent years. Intasound for example who had been part of Narborough Road since the 70’s recently moved, as have others. Then all the replacements are usually “food supermarkets” or Turkish Barbers which there are literally about 20 in the proximity of Narborough Road. As you’ve touched on, the rubbish is appalling down that end too, off some of the side streets it’s even worse. More noticeable crime incidents in recent years too, such as fights and stabbings. Certainly not an area you’d want to go down regularly nowadays.
  3. Glad you’ve pointed this out, because since the Wrexham and Swansea games, we’ve rocketed from 20th to 9th in the high turnovers statistic, I guess this is a tweak he’s made because of the inclusion of players like James & Daka.
  4. I think it comes down to personnel, especially with Ayew starting and the certain options we have in central midfield. Central midfielders are so important in high pressing intense systems, all you need to do is look at Bournemouth under Iraola as the prime example, they are currently the masters of it. The signing of Jordan James has clearly added a bit more engine to our midfield, but of course he’s had Harry Winks alongside him who is known for his midfield controlling rather than defensive work. @StriderHiryu what’s our average positions been like since the Winks & James combo against Wrexham and Swansea? A chunk of our fanbase may not like it, but this squad is more suited to be possession based and control games, which also shows up in our statistics so far. We rank 2nd for 10+ pass sequences and 1st for build up attacks. Our issue is, who on earth is going to be on the end of our build up play?
  5. Since my last post on the topic of pressing, nothing much has changed. According to Opta, we’ve gone from 24th to 23rd for pressing sequences and 20th to 21st for PPDA. Maybe it’s down to a personnel thing or Cifuentes has decided to do things differently tactically, but as I mentioned in my post a few weeks ago, our pressing statistics are pretty much identical to what QPR were producing under Cifuentes. We’ve certainly not been as intense as we were against Fiorentina, which is probably the thing that has disappointed me the most with Marti’s reign so far.
  6. Shame. I was hoping to see more of his “I’m not here to make friends” inspired team talks.
  7. Not a xA type of guy either then 🤔
  8. Despite winning 3-1 at the weekend, it’s evident that things need to improve at both ends of the pitch. Luckily we’ve conceded less than expected, but our current xGA number is currently on par with teams like Derby, Oxford and Sheff Utd.
  9. Potter, Martin, Solskjaer all available at the same time Let’s hope Cifuentes keeps performing.
  10. Look what happens when you don’t bring on Oliver Skipp.
  11. Sign him up
  12. I’m sure Jon Rudkin’s sex appeal could woo Carolyn Radford away from Mansfield Town
  13. We’re heading back to another 04-08 era aren’t we
  14. Just gotta pray Coventry’s goals dry up, but if they remain consistent with their attacking numbers, then they’ll unfortunately be pushing for automatics, also helps that they have a striker who can score goals, unlike ourselves.
  15. Opta has us down as 8.68 which ranks us 16th in the league. Also despite conceding 7 goals, our xGA number is pretty shoddy too, currently the 7th worst team in the league. Some of the numbers we are producing atm certainly don’t scream promotion candidates.
  16. Two issues imo. Style of play - When it comes to being a possession dominant team, we’ve seen this script before. A good chunk of our fanbase are just bored of this style of play, we know how it goes, we know how predictable it can be. When we don’t have a clinical striker on the end of our build ups, then the style of play just ends up looking even worse. Personnel - I said the other week that some of the personnel concerns me more than Cifuentes. We managed to get some of the shit out over the summer, but it simply wasn’t enough. Our defence can be decent at this level, but as seen in recent games, Faes, Vestergaard, Thomas, Kristiansen, all have mistakes in them. Not getting one of Faes or Vestergaard out the door was criminal, while keeping Thomas and Kristiansen as our left-back options isn’t ideal either. Then comes the midfield, it’s alright saying “I don’t want to see Skipp and Soumare in a Leicester shirt again”, but I’m sorry to say, if Winks & James continue to be our first choice pairing, then at least one of Skipp or Soumare are going to come on in a lot of games whether we like it or not. We haven’t replaced Ndidi’s attributes in our midfield which could also end up punishing us. Then comes to our strikers, we needed a first choice striker, if Carranza doesn’t end up being that guy, then we’ve yet again fvcked up the position where we needed to recruit the most. What we did over the summer was a start, but was it enough? After the eight games we’ve seen, it’s looking like a no.
  17. I can understand wanting our wingers to excel in 1 vs 1 situations, as that’s the biggest strength of the three of them. At this moment in time, they are looking seriously isolated with very little support, especially Fatawu who’s having to take on 2-3 players by himself, to the point where he’s become predictable in his play. If we don’t get anything out of our wingers, then the lack of goals will probably continue.
  18. 1 shot on target again tells the story. For 68 minutes, it’s probably the most fluid we’ve looked so far this season, however the same problem continues to occur. We look like a side without a natural goalscorer, and things will stay that way until January unless Daka, Carranza or Ayew start firing, atm the chances of that happening look seriously slim. The last time we were in the Championship, Vardy managed 18 goals, KDH managed 12, of course we don’t have that luxury anymore. Who on earth is going to get to those type of numbers? The way our squad looks, we’re going to be over reliant on Fatawu, Mavididi and maybe Ramsey. In terms of our style of play, you know what you’re going to get with Leicester City nowadays, I feel we’ve become far too predictable in our philosophy. Possession, possession, possession with very little potency because we have a striker issue. We scored a nice team goal tonight, but for most of this season, if the wingers can’t create anything, then we look like creating fvck all. On deadline day we signed players for the right positions, but if this continues, the question will end up being, why on earth didn’t we sign a natural goalscorer?
  19. Those subs at that particular time killed us though. We were on top, looking more fluid in attack and Reid was still being effective.
  20. Shouldn’t have took Reid off
  21. This defence will always remind you how shit they are
  22. How the fvck is Vestergaard getting outmuscled by O’Brien, garbage.
  23. Would have kept Reid on personally, excellent tonight
  24. Matty James
