As a general rule though. That's Leeds and Southampton who've both scored 3 times in the first half in the last week. We've done it once all season. I think we've got the attacking firepower to have done that numerous times. Anyway come on Boro. Think it's very unlikely we're promoted tomorrow night now, but a draw isn't out the picture and a draw is absolutely great.

I do wish we'd gone for the throat of some of these sides. We scored one goal in two games against this Middlesbrough side and they're just so vulnerable.
-
We have actually let in less than we 'should' have done. It's not by a substantial number but I just refute the idea it's all wastefulness from us. We've definitely had some shockers though, no denying that.

We have missed chances and I'm not saying we haven't, but I just think for all we have missed chances it doesn't account for the ones where we've scored from pretty low % opportunities - example McAteer's goal at Stoke, huge deflection. The data for us up until before the West Brom game are expected goals for us are 79.7 and we've actually scored 79. I just think if you're including bad misses you have to be fair and include the same data for the opposition, and include ones where we've scored low % chances. Was there not a fair bit of rhetoric early doors that we were playing pretty ordinarily and winning as well. I don't think we're much apart from where we ought to be and just think the narrative that it's all because of a few missed sitters is a bit biased. That is not to say we haven't missed sitters - some of Daka's finishing especially has been really poor.

Wonder if I've just played this so long that it's too easy now but this has been a near flawless save. First season we finished midtable with a side predicted to be in the bottom half. Our performances were pretty strong but we were let down by pretty wasteful finishing and bad goalkeeping - the usual issues so I moved to fix both in the summer. In the second season we were promoted as champions and back to the Allsvenskan for the first time since 1993. First season up was a pretty similar season to my first year, we finished 9th out of 16 which was very respectable. We were huge draw specialists, I think we drew 11 out of our 15 home games we were very tough to beat but didn't score many. The next season we won the Allsvenskan! We were profiling pretty well on the data again but a couple of subtle tweaks got us over the line. It was probably one of my best underdog runs as we seemed to change from draw specialists to win 1-0 specialists - not even exaggerrating when I say I think we won over half of our 30 games 1-0. Defensively an absolute rock and always seemed to have the knack of pinching a goal late on. Once I'd won the league I wanted to have a run in Europe and then move on although the fact the Swedish calendar ran from April to November meant I had another season in there which this time we finished 4th, which was another European finish. The European run. I ran into Bodo/Glimt in what is possibly the dullest tie a Swedish side could possibly ask for in a first European outing and lost both legs, pretty unluckily as well. We beat Slovan Bratislava 4-1 on aggregate meaning we were guaranteed at least a group stage spot in one of the competitions. We beat Zrinjski in a thriller and bagged a place in the Europa League. Mixed results, the highlight being a shock 2-1 win over Wolfsburg which is probably the crowning jewel moment of the save so far, but were knocked out in the play-off round by Basel, a side who'd absolutely burgled us in the group stage with the most ridiculously one sided 4-0 win I've seen, and by one sided, I mean we completely dominated them and somehow contrived to lose it 4-0. We played well in the knockout game but just couldn't finish them off and lost 2-1 on aggregate. As planned I left Brage and took the Mainz job. They were 16th in the Bundesliga with 8 league games left so a bit of pressure on it knowing there was a chance we were relegated, although Mainz' squad was probably in reality about 12th/13th best in the league so it would've been an underperformance to drop with them. We managed 8 points from 8 games and finished 13th. Not very convincing but over the line. Had a bit of an overhaul in the summer of the squad and brought in some key players such as Desire Doue and Leny Yoro - two players I debated for a while yet in time would wonder how it was ever in any doubt at all. We lost a starting winger to Wolfsburg on deadline day so late on that we didn't even manage a replacement and were playing a man down until January. Once again though the odds were defied and we finished 3rd in the league. I play this 4-3-3 system. No time for inverted wing back, however, inverted full back seems to be a bit overpowered where they seem to offer a bit in attack yet are totally solid at the back as well. We're like Brage very hard to beat and don't let in many goals at all. Currently in my third season at Mainz and 2nd going into the winter break, but Bayern are looking beyond us unfortunately - though I'm yet to lose to them. It's been a fun save with hardly any setbacks at all. Your loss Setubal

Looks like they've taken it off my mate too. I can't catch a break on this. I'm making small money but seems to be the minute I make any profit it's gone. I just know when I fly in with a load of £20s they'll all lose.

This is the kind of link I was expecting. It's underwhelming but a reflection of the situation we've put ourselves into.

Reminds me of me when I'm reminded we have Rudkin spearheading our transfer windows. He's just not really grown over the season at all for me. It's the same system every game and we look a fair bit worse than we did a few months ago. I've long disputed this idea in football that things just gradually get better by default too. He's not really showing signs of getting better even if we did get the win. It's a shame, because there's a lot I do like about him, but we're a sitting duck next season I think. We massively got away with that game on Saturday. I know there's a fair bit of rhetoric about us being wasteful in previous games and that this is a bit of a leveller but I think that's based on very selective data. We've had loads of games where the opposition have missed good chances and some where we were pretty efficient. I don't at all buy this notion that wastefulness has cost us, it's a convenient excuse.
-
Complete opposite this week, very few underdogs led but the majority of favourites sailed in. Valenciennes, Vizela and Cardiff were the only ones of any value that paid. I had the earlier two but Slavia Prague bafflingly bust one of them. Profit overall though.
-
The Martin / Rodgers comparison couldn't have been any truer could it. Every time without fail they get a sniff of the automatics they bottle it. Slight problem for us is that pressure is back off them again Tuesday so they'll probably beat us
-
Thank absolute **** for that. How anybody can have been there in January and wish anything but the worst on those ***** is beyond me. Fingers crossed they hold Ipswich to a result that sends us up just to compound their utter misery. If there was ever a game where a manager should be sacked for a win then it's Ten Hag in that.
-
Don't sign O'Hare. Bottler!

It's a massive lose lose, however, they don't want you to use physical cards which is why I'm edging to yes.

£25 to have a physical season ticket is a disgrace. -
Not as bad but baffling to me how he's kept in the side even out of position. Maresca really does have a blind spot on him.
-
Draw I think.
-
They're such tinpot twats. Never forget the absolute disgrace of a play-off final that got them into this league.
-
The problem with this club is outcome bias dictates everything. Everyone knew we were rubbish in 2021/22 but Rodgers survived despite this (and in hindsight the fact they wanted higher than 8th that season). History tells us they will see the black and white outcome of promotion solving our issues when we clearly still have plenty. If Maresca got us up and then went to Sevilla I think it would be the best case scenario. Ultimately delivered in his mission but I've very little confidence under him going forward.
-
Hugely unconvincing but we're at a point where you just take the win by any means necessary. There is no excuse to not see this through.
-
People will be happy due to Coady and no Daka but if that's the same system (it will be) then this is going to be a tough watch.
-
Sums him up cupping his ears to fans in the midst of another late season collapse. Checking his record so far: 2 from 2 (100%). Sell ASAP. Belgium playing him means it's the best time to sell him. But we'll wait until Belgium have dropped him and get less interest.

Life under Teflon Jon the inept.

Rangers again. I just can't.
