Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21
Aleksz replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just clocked over the last two camps we’ve had a player involved at every youth level. U21 - Ben Nelson, U20 - Bade Aluko, U19 - Jeremy Monga, U18 - Louis Page, U17 - Hugo De Lisle, U16 - Darren Motsi I’d like to hope Evans and Hutchinson might add to that in November based on their form. Pretty good going. -
Not sure I'm fully getting what you are getting at here so sorry If I've misinterpreted... but 1) the game has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and 2) If it was just a reskinned FM24 there shouldn't be as many bugs as there are right now and the reception should be a good one (as FM24 was probably the best FM of all time)?
-
Whilst I appreciate there are many that still love 2D (and each to their own), I think this says a lot about the reasons for your overall stance on the game.
-
Just don’t see the point in sacking him. Whilst I share many the frustrations of others re: Marti, the squad is horrific. It would take a miracle worker to get goals out of those strikers, and enough creative output out of the rest of them. He has to start showing the balls to play the young lads though, if he doesn’t then I won’t have a leg to stand on in defending him. They’re the only tenuous solution to the players he has to work with. PS. Please stop banging on about three at the back, we don’t have the wing backs to play that system and our options are real poor. He’s only switching to that system to chase games and playing without the wing backs, with out and out wingers instead. If we rock up with 3 CBs and wingers as wing backs we’ll look even more susceptible than we already are.

Whatever changes, nothing changes. -
This isn’t meant to be completely FM as we knew it, Miles has peddled the narrative that this is the first of the next 20 years of games. It’s going to be a culture shock and it is, so I understand why you’d take one look at it and your head explode.
-
Agreed. The opportunity to drop a bomb on the club and use some of these youngsters (actually reflected well) is going to be so so good.
-
Miles warned that it would take some serious getting used to to be fair, but lots of the content creators saying that after giving it a solid 10-15 hours they’re used to it and quite like it. It is very overwhelming, I’ve only put 2 hours in or so but feel the first poster should have given it some more time.

Also seeing interest from the big dogs in Evans and Page on mine. None in Monga and Nelson
-
God I cannot wait to take a wrecking ball to the club as a source of therapy on this game.
-
This is why I'd cut Andrew Hughes some slack, bloke came in with rep as a top set piece coach and we haven't got one decent corner taker for him - has been the case probably since Maddison went. Ayew's corners are absolutely mind numbing.

Majority of the development sides don't beat the senior teams in these competitions. Man City's U21s got done for 3 at Bolton and Chelsea's U21s got done for 3 at Northampton the other week, suppose their kids aren't much use to us on loan either? -
I see a lot of people are saying “he shouldn’t play soumare/ayew/etc” but a new manager probably comes in and takes a month+ to work out they’re shite like the last three have. Marti still isn’t even there now.
-
The blokes decisions are pissing me off right now, but ultimately the next manager with have the same squad and Rudkin/Top to work with. We’ll just be like Man Utd recycling managers, making every one of them look shitter than they probably are whilst keeping the same shite players. Rinse. Repeat.
-
As much as Marti is pissing me off, agree with this. Would rather step up the protests before hounding him out.
-
Can someone go down to one of the pubs Marti pretends to frequent tomorrow night and tell him this lot are gash and we don’t wanna see em?
-
I’d rather watch Nelson, Page, Evans and Aluko finish 18th than watching us Soumare, Ayew and Faes labour to finishing 10th. Marti is on thin ice.
-
With rotation, I honestly thought we’d see at least one of Nelson, Evans or Page across the squad tonight. Absolutely shocking none are there, thats on Marti and his set of balls.

Watched this group in the summer at the Euros, Ridgeon (Fulham, plays with Page in midfield) and Alejandro Rodriguez (Lyon, Striker) are the standouts. -

I would think Page will be in this - think he only got bumped up to U20 to cover some injuries. The above group is the one he’s gone through the cycle with (euros in the summer). Hutchinson or Evans should be in with a massive shout for it with our blue tinted specs on, but like I said above the FA like to keep groups of players together and it becomes pretty hard to break into that. -
Thought the subs tonight were crap albeit he had nothing better to put on. Thought we could have got another 15mins out of Ramsey, Carranza and James at least. We all knew nothing was happening once the chuckle brothers came on.
-
Agreed on this, especially first half. It really is get the ball to Fatawu and hope.
-
Along with Carranza and James thought he was took off too soon and we could get another 15mins out of them. We all knew we’d be utterly toothless after that.
-
Christ on a bike. No wonder Marti is taking the easy option out in his selections.

How on earth is this thread still open
