My take in this conflict is that is has made me realise how utterly flawed we are as human beings. Politicians are in the main dreadful people who create sides, they create conflict as they never understand other peoples views and don’t accommodate needs. Often fuelled by individuals who don’t understand other peoples views and don’t accommodate needs. So here we are governments preferring to spend tax payers money on bombing, which destroy things, which need tax payers money to put them right again. All along these utterly flawed animals ( humans) justify what they are doing and only tell their side of the story to their friends to get them to back them. I tell you what, I’d never go to war or fight for our country. The human beings in my country are just as flawed as the human beings in another country and so I wouldn’t be prepared to die for what our politicians are telling me. You imagine the utter devastation one single family is suffering, just one family. Losing loved ones, security, possessions, comfort, yet people are comfortable in creating that devastation and also getting someone else to create that devastation for them. We are utterly flawed, we don’t understand other people and we take in what we are told by governments and take sides. I always remember Iraq and the killings, the families destroyed because some people thought they had weapons of mass destruction. We in the west are just the same as everybody else. How Putin could order people to devastate peoples lives is beyond me, but how Tony Blair could inflict that on others too is also beyond me. We have wonderful people that create medicines, doctors and nurses that cure people, nice people, then we have an equal amount driven by greed and who are happy to create misery across the globe. All that is happening now is we are being brainwashed to show how good one side is and how evil another side is. And you know what, we just absorb it all and do what they want us too. We either wave a Ukraine flag or a Russian one and each side think the other side is wrong because of what information we have been fed. I ain’t joining in this, I am not waving any flag, and I am not getting sucked in. Like Brexit, that was just the same but without the bombs. It is about time we started to realise how governments treat us.

Horrible, but that’s folk for you unfortunately. Not a consideration for anyone else. I put an offer in once that was accepted. About 6 weeks after when it was all going through and surveys done etc the seller said someone had offered them another £10k so we needed to go £10k more else it was off. I said it’s off, but they said they felt guilty and so they said they would agree to pay the solicitor fees that we incurred, which I thought was good of them. When the sale went through and I asked for the solicitor fees, they just said they had changed their minds. That is one reason folks I am wary of most people, as this was a couple, and both had devices twice to do something I would never have done to anyone else.

There is something wrong here. Nobody takes 6 months to find a house once they have sold theirs.

There is lots going on here, but then this is generally the case with all guitarists, particularly at the beginning. I remember I hit a wall with holding a pick. It was like I just couldn’t play. There are Just phases and learnings along the way. On the guitar the necks are available thin and fat, they all have various names as a poster put on here above, but the actual board generally stays the same size so that the fingers still have the same surface to play on if that makes sense. So a smaller neck at the back doesn’t mean smaller surface at the front. You could take your guitar to a luthier to get the action lower. I think if the feel is right you will be more comfortable and play better, so that’s an option I would take up. There is a guy in Clarendon Park area that would adjust it for about £40. It’s a real minefield, and once you get through one minefield there is another. I have just purchased some kit to record and I am scared to do it as it’s the unknown. I am putting off trying it out as it feels like it’s too much hard work. So what you are going through is perfectly normal and just part of the long process. You will hit walls all along the journey. The other thing someone once told me at a store that I took note of is to enjoy the moment. Every single player whoever they are won’t be where they want to be, the journey just never ends. So just relax and if you are pleased that you have managed to put two chords together, be proud of it. I get caught up in thinking it’s not worth carrying on because I am rubbish, but then I get angry at myself for thinking like that and I have to think on what that guy in the store told me. If I were you i would 1. get the luthier to adjust it so you know you have that right 2. at some point pop into a store to see how other guitars feel, but point 1 should mean this won’t be needed for a while 3. just try to enjoy it, which it sounds like you are doing and just try and add a bit of progress wherever you can.

I’d get a guitar with a different neck radius and put lighter strings on and it will feel completely different. Each and every guitar is very different so if you went to a decent store they could bring out several for you to try. I have a fair few guitars, one is a PRS with a pattern thin neck, which feels about half the size of the iconic 59 Gibson. I remember when I initially went to buy a guitar many years ago the geezer in the store tried to put me off getting a Gibson SG as he said the necks at that particular time would make it more difficult for me to play.

They will be able to justify their actions. They will have seen how he has behaved over the years and what he has said while he has been in prison and so they will be able to justify their decision. But what they don’t account for is that psychopaths can’t change their behaviour. I don’t believe these situations should be box ticking exercises. They need to account for the fact that these murderers are different and they are well capable of telling people what they want to hear. Always a massive risk and one in my opinion we should never ever have taken

Protests and marches to show those in power that we aren’t happy with the system. I just can’t understand voting for something that is currently broken. The Boris Bus just shows they are taking us for fools, and it’s time we didn’t accept it. But the other side is just as bad.
-
It’s typical really, they are mostly generally very poor. If there is a chain, there won’t be any desire from the solicitor to find a way through it. I give them a deadline to solve else I will pull out, but you can only do that if you are happy with the outcome it can achieve. If you really want the house you can’t do that. Good luck, hope it works out

Nothing to do with curry, apart from Edwina maybe. Don’t vote, they are all playing us. The Boris bus, expenses scandal, Hancock, paid for holidays and flat decoration. There is a new one every week, it’s wholly corrupt. And you know what, we tootle along to a booth and put an X in a box and actually give one side our blessing. We actually argue one side against the other, it’s like backing one school bully against the other. We are stupid to vote, we go along with this crap and get treated poorly. Don’t vote and they will finally realise we need change, or draw a cock and balls on the voting paper. That is my unpopular opinion - boom

Need to understand what the issues are with regards to the hold up. I have purchased a house within four days once before, so generally the issues lay with communication and effort between solicitors. If they want to complete, they can do, but you need two solicitors intend on hitting a deadline. I have also completed many houses within 3-4 weeks, again both solicitors knowing and willing to hit deadlines. Find out what the delay is first, what is holding it all up? I recall having to change solicitors a while back and I rang a potential new one and had to leave a message on her voicemail. It said something along the lines of “ I am sorry I am not available, please leave a message. The usual time for me to respond is within 48 hours” Generally any issue is very quickly solvable, it’s just they do a bit on one file them move into another and you are bottom of the pile again.

Half time queues is a problem that has always been there that is impossible to solve. Not just at LCFC How do you suddenly serve thousands of people in a twenty minute window with limited space at your disposal. You also don’t employ the staff for twenty minutes, so even doubling staff wouldn’t be financially worth it. The sums will have been done many many times and nobody has yet been able to solve. Opening the gates and having external vans would create a logistical nightmare, and again is it worth it for a 20 minute sales slot.

I think you are right. I was thinking about having an affair, or driving to Durham when I had the virus, but in the end I thought my selfish approach was better than those making the rules.

I wonder what the percentage of people are that get a PCR test done when they have COVID? Be interesting to know as there are currently around 30,000 cases a day, but there must be a good 20% above that, that go unregistered. Having an idea what the unregistered cases are would then mean we get a better handle on what the percentage death rate really is. Both my son and I didn’t bother with the PCR’s. We knew we were positive from symptoms and the lateral flow tests, so just locked ourselves indoors until it passed over and so went unregistered. Anyone else go under the radar with COVID?

Is this only available on streaming? No sky or by by the looks of it

Mine turned up in today’s post. Just so others know about arrival times
-
I am still waiting on one. I suppose the good news is a few are still waiting, so probably just the process, rather than lost.
-
Anyone not had theirs yet? I have had three of my four arrive on separate days, but am awaiting one. Anyone else waiting still?

I can’t ever imagine being able to play that. Well done

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff

To me anything Soulsby is involved in enhances the City greatly. Anything that is done by the public appears to be in their own interests and don’t enhance the City. The train station plan again looks like a positive move for the City -
Interested to know if anybody remembers Janx from 2007

I just think it’s really good what you are doing, trying to find out about your Dad. It was many years ago, but you are hunting and wanting to find out about him. Whatever you are finding out, whether it’s a little or a lot, my take on this thread is the positive way in which a son is searching and wanting to know more about his father after all these years. A very encouraging thread, I am sure your Dad would be proud of what you are doing. -
I thought he was the most delightful player to watch. Anthony Knockaert was massive for me up until then, I didn’t like seeing his decline in the last season, but then Esterban rocked up and I had a new hero. Just pure class, I loved watching him.

Nope. I just find it incredible that we are going to an FA Cup Final and people are moaning. It disappoints me when you see how fans of other clubs are treated, yet a percentage of our lot are focussing on an error of judgment. There just isn’t any balance, especially when you see how the so called big six treat their fans. To me it’s not so much about the actual coach situation, it’s about showing a bit of respect to the club. Like I said, there maybe an error of judgment, or a wrong decision. But support those that treat you well, and our club treat us very well.
-
No, I’ve got a box so am travelling by car. However after wanting to see my team play in an FA Cup final for decades I’d be happy to go down by any means of travel. I also think there would be many thousand season ticket holders without a ticket who would gladly take the coach
-
Point one you mention what an MP has said. So who would you believe, an MP or our club? I refuse to vote because politicians are full of lies. Let’s look at all the lies we hear from them over the years, the cover ups etc, then look at our club and then decide who you would believe. We are not whiter than white, I know that, but I would trust what our club said over a government official whatever way he swings. Red or blue they are all the same. I am not having it that our club made all this up for profit. Absolute tosh. Also Man City had to have a certain travel arrangement and so I am pretty sure we would too. Let’s look at the profit of the coaches, it’s not exactly a fortune, not worth telling porkies about. Also they give us Wembley packs and send them all out, can’t see they would do that and decide to deceive us. Not having it one bit. Error of judgement on how it was communicated, but I would be sure we have to comply to travel arrangements

This thread reminds me of how people really are. So we have the best owners, we have the best team in my lifetime, we are achieving the impossible. Then an error is made and people jump straight at them. Doesn’t matter if the situation is difficult, just have a go, ram the point home that it isn’t to your liking. I’ve got a ticket, I am very lucky, I’d be happy to go by coach, I’d be happy to do anything I could to watch my team, but no, let’s go at the club for an error of judgment. I’ll be honest I am not bothered by the error in judgment one bit. It’s exactly what it is, an error made when decision time is short. Have some sympathy, have a bit of respect for the club that do more for you than any other club in the PL. Give them a bit of support back rather than try and ram it down their throats and moan. You are very lucky who our owners are and how well we are treated as fans in comparison, so just have a think before you start having a go
