Easily is doing a lot of heavy lifting there!! Lot of doubt towards England pulling off the win but we've seen many a time this series that all it takes is an over or two to get the momentum to shift away from a team any given moment. You had it with the two early wickets. We got it back with the big Gill & Rahul stand. You got it back with them two getting out before lunch. Seem to have wrestled it back a bit since then but once one of these goes it won't take much more to bowl us out I imagine...

Entirely wishful thinking but I wonder, just ever so slightly wonder, if we could get to a point where we leave England with about 100 runs to win and to get that target within 10-15 overs. England could probably quite easily get to it but it'd make it one hell of an ending...

I don't think it will. 60ish overs to bat out with a dwindling batting line up, already without Pant. Nigh on impossible task.

A lot could depend on rain but with how many surprises there's been this series, I wouldn't put it past us! Gill and Rahul have done fantastic to get us to this position after the perilous 0 for 2 we found ourselves in.

Rahul's record before this series was average at best vs England. He's upped his game in test form recently though.

Is Stokes likely to bowl?

Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav? Jadeja is world class all rounder and his spin has done the trick many a time. On a level if you're including Ashwin in that list. Kumble and Harbhajan in a different class I'd say. Yadav hasn't been given a fair shot but I think he'd have taken plenty of wickets so far if he was given a chance.

He could be 20 yrs older and still be more of a worthwhile backup than Ward ever was. Only 1 year and probably knows he won't play much but can be called upon if needed. Probably helping him with his coaching qualifications at the same time perhaps too.

Absolute hammering for us. Will probably be the same at the Oval. The team appear to be mentally shot and perhaps losing how we did at Lords has been the catalyst for that. Gill has a lot to learn as captain, but he has time. Better captains and players than him have had similar starts or resounding defeats and recovered. Not sure in Gambhir as coach, though.

Root is one of the best ever. Agree he's probably the best since Tendulkar and that era. Kohli and Williamson probably on a par just behind him. Hope Root does break that Aussie drought.

This test and series is done. England could post a huge total by middle of 2nd session tomorrow and then put us into bat. Day and a half to bowl us out. Can't see us getting another 250-300 in the 2nd innings.

The white V collar is too big. Stripes on the shoulder would look better in white.
