Gill first test looked lost in the field. Rahul was doing most of the captaining. This test it already looks like he's learning his lessons (apart from sticking with Prasidh for too long).

That's fortunate but similar to Rahul's in first innings. Brook looks ready to be sensible and capitalise on the bad balls.

With England looking a tad tired does anyone reckon Wood and/or Archer come back for Lords? Bumrah likely to come back for us, and you'd expect Deep to keep his place instead of Krishna. I doubt we'll see such high scoring on a Lords pitch unless they've completed flattened that too

Only to not lose. Whatever target we set (higher or not), if rain affects England's innings it lessens the time they can chase or for India to bowl them out. I still don't know what target will be good enough if the rain stays away Lead of 285. If we can get a lead of 500 by middle of third session I'd sit comfortable. Can't give England a full four sessions, and even I'd be surprised if England pulled that off in one day.

Yep agree and it's already been evidenced tonight, on both counts. She looks a lot more composed in rallies and stronger on the return. But some of the chances to have winners were missed in the game after she broke.
