  1. Looked at loads, her favourite to drive was the Jaguar I-Pace but she didn’t like the looks. I think her fear of the tech was the deciding factor in the end. We need something reasonably large, an SUV type of thing.
  2. @Grebfromgrebland I know, I’ve tried hard to convince her but as she does lots of long distance for work, as well as not liking the EV designs, she has range and tech anxiety. It would have been ideal too as I can fit a high kw charger myself for a few hundred pounds and already have solar panels.
  3. Well, back to the drawing board. Looked at several EV’s - wife doesn’t like any of them… She loved the driving experience but hates the looks and being as she will be driving it more often than me, she wins. Anyone have an F-Pace? Drove the 3.0l v6 and it was her favourite by a mile, after trying the Q5 and XC60 (although they were both the 2.0l versions). The F-Pace incidentally, originally had a price of £77k including the extras fitted! Up for £27k on 22k miles, 3 years old! How do people/companies live with that sort of depreciation?
  4. To be honest, I detest the current Labour Party but I also know that they’re head and shoulders above some other parties likely to get seats. Hold your nose, defeat the tories, try and kill Reform, job done. Horrible times we’re living in.
  5. This is one of the worst things, either bite your tongue and move on or tackle head on, which never ends well. I only have one neighbour but If Carlsberg made neighbours, then mine would be them, apart from their awful politics. Very wealthy boomers who have worked and lived abroad with an ex-pat community for decades, now semi retired. They love Farage 😢
  6. I’ve had conversations with several people in the building trade this week, in their 20’s, 30’s and early 40’s who all said they were going to vote reform, all particularly fond of Farage and, one who subscribes to Andrew Tate’s social media 😳 Very disappointing to see as I thought most reform voters would be older. Also a change here in Wales as most people in my circles were historically Plaid Cymru or Labour.
  7. Awesome city. Need to go again, not been for a long time.
  8. I’ve looked at a couple, both HSE variants with pan roof, HUD, heated/cooling seats, adaptive cruise etc. Going to test drive next week. The standard warranties offered by the garages aren’t brilliant and expensive so will try to find something independently, perhaps @tom27111 might have some insight?
  9. Already have 3 phase 👍 Not high mileage user though but may get another EV in the near future. I just like to future proof as the cost of a 7kw vs 22kw charger is not massive
  10. Anyone got an i-pace? @FoyleFox Ridiculously cheap for a used high end EV, around £22k for a 21 plate low mileage fully loaded car. Originally sold for in excess of £60k… Previously owned an XF Sportbrake 3.0s which was mapped and put out around 320bhp but the i-pace has around 400bhp… I’d like to see real world figures regarding range, reliability etc. Rear view doesn’t look great but I noticed some had a camera instead of using a mirror. They even have 11kw home charging capability. I’ve looked at installing a home charger and they’re also relatively cheap to buy and install, even a 22kw version.

  12. They don’t stop you getting Covid, they help give protection against severe symptoms.
  13. I once changed a bag type thing of diesel additive that was somewhere under the car around the rear axle on a 2007 Peugeot. Might not be the same thing though? This was pre adblue days but did the same thing (I think)
  14. Three phase is still AC but can carry a heavier load than standard single phase so could possibly have a 22kWh charger installed. Not sure of cost implications though. Not looked at the Ioniq 5, I’ll check them out 👍
  15. Ok all you EV buffs, I need a new (to me) vehicle and I’m considering a full EV. I currently have 3 phase electrics and solar panels at the house and parking within 5m of the consumer unit. Is it best to go through my electricity supplier for a charger or any other way? What KWh charger? I’ve had dpf issues with current diesel vehicle due to lots of short journeys interspersed with the odd longer one but do want the occasional jaunt into Europe once annually. I don’t like the figures at the pump combined with poor economy with petrol. I need a reasonably large car, f-pace, q5 or xc60 sized. I have my wife’s car as trade in, worth about 22k and don’t want to put much more than another 5k down. I know I’m looking at a 3 yr old 50k miler at best probably. Any advice would be very welcome.
  16. Anyone else still having Covid boosters? I’m about to get my 11th next week. I’ve not had Covid and suffered very few, if any, side effects from the previous vaccines or boosters. Most of the people I see still at the vax centre are elderly, I’m only 59 but immune compromised. (not interested in anti-vax conspiracy theories btw)

    Depression

Thanks for asking, it's difficult working things out alone. It's been a slow process, just gathering data and any evidence to strengthen our defence. My barrister was away over half term so I didn't achieve much. I have had lot's of phone conversations with different professionals and their advice ranges from "won't touch it with a bargepole" to "lets build an aggressive case to counter with"... One really good contact I've had passed on to me is an ex police chap who was very high up in anti corruption (inside and outside the force) and now works as a private investigator. I'm being interviewed by him tomorrow so he can build my case from my perspective and then investigate the claimant and the contractors who employed him. His contact and network list is incredible! He is very positive and that immediately helped our anxiety levels. Not looking forward to a 6 hour interview though... These comments from you and other forum users mean a lot - it can be quite lonely and frightening when I can't easily show negativity to my wife - she needs my support not an emotional wreck!! Thanks again.
  18. That’s fantastic, speaking with barrister tomorrow so will mention this.
  19. She’s also one of the few left wingers not purged yet…
  20. It’s also a massive privilege that’s not available to the majority of the population.
  21. Sounds like you had an amazing time. I love that part of the world.
  22. I don’t really watch tv at all, apart from the football which I watch on iptv. My wife watches various Netflix Amazon Prime series. Like I said, the only reason I don’t have one is because we’ve been living in a building site and are only just getting rooms sorted for finishing. My point was more about the aggressive letters that are sent.
