Me commenting in certain threads. Just noticed that I’m now unable to comment in the “I’ve got something to say “ thread as well as the general news thread. It seems to be a permanent ban too, admin didn’t even reply when I asked how long the ban was. Not sure why though, the last post I made was a reminder to give blood, otherwise I’ve been on my best behaviour. Unless “someone” has reported me for calling “someone” a disgusting person a few days ago… Could someone start a banned users thread please Edit: I think I know why now - I posted a news article which has been removed. Yes, of course. What you have is what I’ve used all over my house but only where it’s not seen as I’ve converted to copper in those areas on show. Each one would have to be looked at and worked out in its own situation, for instance, to hide and convert completely might mean a floorboard coming up, not ideal if it’s carpeted. Another option would be to box the plastic in to hide the conversion to copper.

If you don’t already, consider donating blood, it’s easy, quick and incredibly important to those needing surgery/transfusions.

In case anyone is unsure, there is little “collateral” damage in Gaza with the modern weapon systems being used by the IDF. Everything happening to civilians and the infrastructure is highly organised, targeted and deliberate, under orders from the Israeli government.

Years ago visiting my Dad in Switzerland and his Wife had the beginnings of a huge 6’x4’ jigsaw spread across a table. I stole a piece and flew home. She was not amused 😂

I’ve had fall outs with family and good friends, Brexit, Tory politics, Covid, Palestine, you name it 😂. Life goes on, relationships are mended or not and the world doesn’t end. My wife says that I’m the common denominator 😡

Well, lots of fledglings appeared over the last couple of days, Swallows, Robins, Song Thrushes, Goldcrest, Greenfinches, Goldfinches all fluttering around the garden. Young Sparrowhawk had a few unsuccessful attempts at a smash and grab on the Blue Tits. Also found a Spotted Flycatcher taking food to its nest so obviously feeding youngsters. I kept hearing a Curlew calling a few weeks ago and finally found the nest in a field above my house. I haven’t approached the nest as I don’t want to disturb them - they are red listed species and becoming increasingly rare (no breeding records in my area). I’ve reported it to the national database, just hoping it’s successful.

I'm not allowed to talk about Israel/Palestine in detail (banned from general news thread) but anyone defending the Israeli government and IDF or saying that you can't trust the news sources, it's both sides etc. needs a head check. I've been in contact with someone working currently in the West Bank and Gaza and believe me, It's all true and much, much worse than we're hearing. Meanwhile, the world sits by and watches (apart from the US/Trump who are complicit)

Absolutely. My reply was really aimed at the bikes on the list, none of them sports bikes. Having owned an RG500 and a V-Max (at different times) give me the torque of the V-Max any day (although the RG made me smile A LOT…)

@joachim1965 I had a LI150, stripped and rebuilt it, did a skinny rib job on it and took the engine to Dave Webster in Long Eaton who completely transformed it, 225cc stage 6 tuning using Suzuki top end. Dave Webster and Norrie Kerr were/are legends in the scooter world. I’ll see if I can dig out a photo.

I lived in Adana in the ‘80s but travelled a lot between there, Trabzon, Samsun and Istanbul. So many beautiful and interesting places, I often wonder how much it has changed,not sure whether going back might spoil my memories…

Aghhh, you’ve stirred memories!! It’s been a long time since I was there, you’ve just scratched an itch and now I need to start another trip plan!

If you go for a lower powered model you’ll want to trade up within a few months in my opinion. Having more power on long journeys is great for relaxed higher speed cruising. Don’t be afraid of the power, you’re in control 👍. There are plenty of used, low mileage bikes which will save you money but go sit on as many as you can, either ask bikers (very obliging normally) and go to showrooms. Find something comfortable for your height and weight, achy back, sore shoulders and wrists will spoil your experience. Finally, do one of the courses that the police run, you’ll gain more in those sessions than riding solo for years, plus they are great fun. Be safe, have fun and welcome to the club.

Been to both, lived in Turkey for a while and I agree, wonderful places.
