Well, lots of fledglings appeared over the last couple of days, Swallows, Robins, Song Thrushes, Goldcrest, Greenfinches, Goldfinches all fluttering around the garden. Young Sparrowhawk had a few unsuccessful attempts at a smash and grab on the Blue Tits.
Also found a Spotted Flycatcher taking food to its nest so obviously feeding youngsters.
I kept hearing a Curlew calling a few weeks ago and finally found the nest in a field above my house. I haven’t approached the nest as I don’t want to disturb them - they are red listed species and becoming increasingly rare (no breeding records in my area).
I’ve reported it to the national database, just hoping it’s successful.
