Daka was an odd purchase. One of the most promising strikers in Europe, banging goals in left, right and centre in Austria and Europe playing up front in a 2, playing to his strengths in behind rather than as a linkman. We then decide in our infinite wisdom to spend a load of money on him, play him upfront by himself, with the closest players to him currently being Wilfred Ndidi and Bobby Reid, neither of which look like actual footballers.

Don't get the fascination with Szmodics. He's had one decent season in the championship in his entire career and is a pretty bang average footballer. He's 29 next month so there's little to no resale value potential either. I hope we steer well clear.

Stolarczyk is a decent keeper and has age on his side. He's nowhere near the level of Hermansen though. Hermansen will end up playing for one of the better teams in Europe

Iversen isn't good enough though. If Iversen plays for at least half a season for us in the PL then we're going to end up relegated. Similarly, Ward isn't and wasn't good enough during our last PL season

Weghorst is essentially a giant Okazaki in that his greatest strength is his work rate and pressing. I wouldn't especially trust him in front of goal nor would he be particularly exciting to watch, but we could do much worse than him as an option

We as a fanbase didn't 100% back our manager when we were top of the league last season whilst trying to play decent football, so I can't see us backing a shit manager whilst bottom of the league on - points 😂

Nottingham Forest in 2022-23 managed to achieve the lowest average possession % in Europe's top 5 leagues. They averaged 32.3% possession. Why is our approach to managerial appointments so scattergun and lacking succession planning compared to other clubs? Potter, Cooper and Corberan are all so wildly different stylistically. Brighton have a functional, working model and plan for their managers leaving. They had Potter and replaced him with someone similar stylistically in De Zerbi. They then pluck a 31 year old German from Bundesliga 2 who matches their stats model and is similar stylistically. We're going backwards as a football club and don't have anyone in charge capable of making a reasoned footballing decision. I regret renewing my season ticket already and we're not even in ****ing July yet
