Benalouane and even moving Fuchs to CB were both preferred to him at the tail end of last season. Honestly atm I see him as 6th choice CB and 7th choice CM. Only position he has a chance of filling in is RB. I doubt he'll get much playing time at all unless Simpson gets injured.

Riyad Mahrez - The great Artist
Sampson replied to The whole world smiles's topic in Leicester City Forum
He's about 300 times the player of Steve Walsh tbf. -
He's just come back from an international tournament when everyone else was having time off. He still trains every day last season and during the time everyone else had off and he played plenty last season. Have you ever done any form of exercise? It's extremely hard not to burnout when you're training constantly. You need time off every now and again. Not to mention training all year round with no break increases risk of injury. He almost certainly would've talked it over with the sport science team and physios and they would've decided what was best for the individual. Think you're looking for reasons to beat him over the head with. He won't have just been given time off for no reason.
-
I'm pretty sure our physics and sport psychologists will have a better idea of when it's a good time for a specific individual to have time off and a rest to try and get their fitness up and stop over-training/burnout than some random person on an internet forum tbf.

I actually thought he looked a bit of a car crash in the first 25 minutes or so - needlessly fouling West Brom players and running into alleyways. But he really turned it round after that and had a good game.

I think there's some nostalgia goggles going on here. Flowers had one-and-a-half great seasons with us - brilliant in 1999-00 and the first half of 2000-01 but then Walker took his place. He only played 54 league games for us(!) Flowers was great for us for a short period, but Schmeichel's performances over the past season-and-a-half have already far eclipsed those of Flowers without a shadow of a doubt. I loved Flowers when he was here, but Kasper has clearly eclipsed him already. I think only extreme nostalgia will say otherwise.

I've criticised him in the past, but I think our POTY winner this season will be the easiest for ages - and who was our last player to win it twice? (As he previously won it in Pearson's first season back). Not sure if he's quite as good as Banks and Shilton, but he's certainly the best since Shilton, as much as I loved Wallington, Flowers, Keller etc., Kasper is undoubtedly better than them and has more iconic Leicester moments.

Give over, Albrighton was our best player against Brugge and one of the best players against Burnley. He was better than Mahrez in both those games, ludicrous to insinuate Mahrez at least turned up for those 2 games but Albrighton didn't.

I just noticed this had gone. I loved looking through that section. Are there plans to bring it back? I hope it hasn't gone permanently It was the most expansive section on LCFC's history on the net.

Andy King being doubted not to reach the next level #35,747. (And for the 35,747th time he will prove them wrong).Nothing to do with his passing mate. We didn't get where we are by having a good pass %. All I saw was a player making loads of cracking runs and getting in great positions beyond the Portuguese defence. He easily could've got a couple of goals tonight had the service been better. Thought his movement was superb against top class defenders tonight, the lack of quality service was what did him.

Happened at the weekend with Okazaki and Panayiotou as well.
-
Think you're reaching a bit there... Ipswich clearly did the same achievement regardless of how the third tier was divided at the time.
-
I definitely think Morgan should be over Huth, but I'm not complaining given the important goals Huth has scored recently!

Good read that.

Nah. Vardy definitely deserves it over Mahrez for me.
-
If Vardy doesn't win both the PFA Player of the Year and Footballer of the Year he will have be robbed.
-
I'd say it was a rook-ie mistake.
-
Wtf has he been watching? Fuchs has been one of the best full-backs in the division. edit: oh I just realised
-
Well I've already resigned myself to facing having to watch Jordan Henderson and Michael Carrick sitting in England's midfield making 600 sideways passes a game while Danny sits at home polishing his Premier League title winner's medal.
-
Danny Drinkwater - the only English midfielder who actually remembers how to pass the ball forwards.
-
Wonder whatever happened to the manager that did that with Ipswich.... Must've been pretty good... Auxerre did it in the French league too under legendary manager Guy Roux (who I think is the longest serving manager at one club in football history?) but that was over the space of about 25 years.
-
Absolutely! No idea what game opposition fans were watching if they thought we looked a 2 man team last night.
-
That was never at any point a rule though. The daylight thing was a fallacy invented by pundits. Much like the "if you have your hands away from your body or they're in an unnatural position it's a handball" which is another fallacy invented by pundits.

IT'S OFFICIAL - Wales Are Better Than England
Sampson replied to Finnegan's topic in General Football and Sport
Has Aaron Ramsey actually ever done anything outside of that one great season? I don't get why people keep referring to him as being the best British midfielder or a top class player. He's looking more and more like he was just a one-season wonder.
