For anyone who hasn't been to the oktoberfest in Munich..go.

It's brilliant. Went there years back for mi mates stag and I've literally never been as pissed. I think we all mistook steins for pints! One of the less ardened drinkers amongst us literally turned green at one point lol

We ventured into Munich's red light district afterwards..but that's another story.

Balls to the Leicester version. Do the real thing!

YES!

Was suggesting Oktoberfest to my mates a few weeks ago but none of them were too keen because of cost to Germany/Hotels, e.t.c

But if it happens in Leicester, no excuses, also the German market in Birmingham is always great at Christmas, apart from being surrounded by Brummies.

Get down to the Stuttgart version if you're going to do it. Cheaper and less touristy, fantastic atmosphere.

Rosenheim does a fantastic festival as well, not far from Munich.

This wouldn't be the same in England.

One of the things I remember we said as a group of lads...in spite of hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Munichfest, many of whom were somewhat wankered..there was not a hint of any trouble there that year. Order was meticulously maintained.

I can imagine someone getting stabbed in Leicester, some local shopkeeper having their windows put through, or someone making a complaint cos they were looked at in a funny way...

Nah, go to Germany...

lol

Anybody going to this after the Spurs game?? Thought about it but not sure what it costs to turn up and if they'll let us in that late?

Don't listen to the hipsters mate, I used to live in Munich and I'm looking forward to this.  My mate went to one in Birmingham I believe it was last year and said it was a lot better than he was expecting.  It's just a bit of fun at the end of the day.

If you go out anywhere expecting a shit time, guess what, you'll end up having a shit time.
