Samu Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Just wondered if anyone is starting uni this year and where/what they are studying? I'm off to Manchester to study Anthropology. Unfortunately I've never been to the city itself so I'm just hoping its as good as people have told me. Did anyone else go there?
Shum Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Hell yes!!! Manchester is awesome!!! 4 quality years, you will love it!
Samu Posted 5 September 2005 Author Posted 5 September 2005 Ooh excellent! Where did you stay. I think I've got accommodation at somwhere called Hulme Hall
Shum Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Not far from there... In the first year I stayed at Cambridge Halls, in the 2nd year I was in Fallowfield (you'll get to know the areas and it's a massive student area along with Didsbury, Withington, rusholme etc) third year was placement year and fourth year stayed at Victoria Halls.
The People's Hero Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 I finished my three years at Leicester uni recently. Top quality. Manchester is a good city to live in mate... enjoy it!
Shum Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 I could easily say Manchester is top banana! If the company I did my placement for hadn't have been bought out, I would be working and living there now!
Katy Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Cobbo will tell you all about Manchester, he goes all misty-eyed when he talks about his time there.
Shum Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Such a shame I didn't get to meet Cobbo while we were both in Manchester!
The People's Hero Posted 5 September 2005 Posted 5 September 2005 Good old Va Va. I miss his cheeky grin. Oh, and his hats.
Samu Posted 5 September 2005 Author Posted 5 September 2005 Oh I didn't realise Sam was there. I'd better ask him about it ! All these good things I'm hearing really wanna make me go now...cheers everyone

Shum Posted 6 September 2005 Posted 6 September 2005 Oh yeah, forgot to mention, when Man City were at Maine Road they used to excellent student tickets, like £8 at the time, and I think they still do student tickets at the COM Stadium.. well worth a watch!
