Still missing an instinctive finisher....

If Vardy was a cool finisher he'd get 30 goals a season. He can be completely unplayable AND make his own chances.

A great example was the one where he picked the ball up just inside Sunderland's half, ran in on goal..and then missed...

It must be difficult to run with so much pace and then have the composure to slot away a chance. Being a player like Austin must be easier to score goals..he's a slower player, lurks around the penalty area and takes half chances.

If we had that twenty goal a season bloke, alongside Vardy..a player that could take chances when they come, we'd have pasted Sunderland...as in 6/7 to 2.

I'd love to see a combo of Vardy and Austin..then again, is Kramaric that player? If he's not selected, we'll never know.

If City pushed the boat out, paid the money and signed Austin, literally no Prem club would look forward to playing us.

We look great now, with a real 'sniffer' added to the mix, we'd look even better.

Disagree

Vardy, Ulloa & Nugent have so many changes because they make so many chances.

Real sniffers would detract from this unrelenting, never say quit, hardwork which has brought us our success and got us where we are & their wouldn't be so many loose balls in the opposition box that need a sniffer to bag them.

Rather than us scoring more, we could actually score far, far less.

Definitely Nuge's main strength and why I hated it when he was played up top. End of last season before the calf strain against West Brom and Spurs away as I recall he sat behind Ulloa and Vardy and it really worked well. Will definitely miss Dave, and he'll always be remembered well, just as he still is at Portsmouth.

Sorry, your avi and member name always cracks me up, and detracts from what you post.

agreed nugent probably wouldn't have been dropped if it was for his injury, we always played better aswell last year with him in the side.

I chose a cracker of a name hahaha.

Ulloa is an instinctive finisher, he'd have taken one or two of those chances. However you then sacrifice something is regards to build up play, so maybe with Ulloa we wouldn't have created as many of those chances.

Totally agree, I'd rather prioritise build-up play and create a lot of chances with a lower conversion ratio than vice versa. Having the ball further up the pitch also relieves pressure on defence

We really should have scored 6/7 on Saturday...Okazaki looked busy and tidy but he's NOT a finisher, neither is Vardy... Defoe had one chance and scored.. If he was in our side on Saturday he would have had 3/4!!... We still need a poacher, a natural Goalscorer.... Perhaps Charlie Austin?

Perhaps just enjoy the fact we won and scored 4 goals?

This is the dumbest thread I have read for a while. 1 game in, we score more than any other premiership side and you're questioning " instinctive " finishing. You need to wait atleast 6-7 games before we know what we are lacking. DUMB THREAD

I see your point about Defoe, he can make a goal out of half-chances. But there must be a few teams who are envious of having Kramaric and Ulloa on the bench. Plus we've got Mahrez and Albrighton banging them in from midfield
