Voll Blau Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Love a night out in Leeds, much better for bars than nightclubs though. The nightclub scene is pretty terrible with Prism, Tiger Tiger being full of the usual knobheads you will find in most cities. Some very cool bars along Call Lane, there's also a hotel bar in the centre that gets pretty full at the weekends that is very nice. The toilets are through the hotel reception which is kind of weird. Take every social opportunity that you can get, though I'm sure a lot of the workers at a place like Hills will be well up for drinking! Is that the bar named after a year, like 1871 or something? Absolute maze to find the bogs in there!
davbison Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I moved from Leicester to Leeds nearly 10 years ago. It's a great place to live - there's a lot more going on here than Leicester. Chapel Allerton is a cool place to live, it's got some great bars and places to eat and you're only 10 minutes from the city. The 2 hour drive for home games is a ball ache but I guess that the price I pay for moving!
Guest Manini Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 It was a dive but always had a brilliant night when I went. Every drink was a quid on Monday nights if I can remember right? I had some good memories made from that place. Yeah pound drinks on a Monday. Loads of places all over the city do that now though, but the novelty of a £1 pint never really wears off! Everybody I speak to tells me how much they miss it. It was never really my cup of tea for a night out, decent place to work though. End of the day it was hemoraging money and it was only open two nights a week, not hard to see why it closed.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Didn't Halo turn into a cake shop or something? **Had a Google, Get Baked took over the bar that was attached to it. Their cheesecake at 3 AM was supoib.
ScouseFox Posted 21 August 2015 Author Posted 21 August 2015 get baked is a very misleading name for a shop that sells cakes

sphericalfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I used to live in Leeds, at Adel. Chapel Allerton was pretty cool then, but that was some years ago. Water holes are plentiful, and I usually used the "Lawnswood Arms". Now then, now then..
Voll Blau Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 In Leeds tomorrow for a sesh. Probs be watching the match in Headingley somewhere.
