I lived in Leeds for 14 years before moving back to Leicester (god knows why!) and I guarantee you will have the best time there. I lived in Chapel A (as the cool kids call it)

I was thinking about calling it chaps so I could be a chap in the chaps but perhaps that sounds slightly homoerotic dunno.

glad someone has finally said they lived there and it's good though thanks!

to add, i put the belgrave in large becuase it does the dirtiest burgers youll ever eat and they're buy one get one for a quid on sunday and it's got a cracking rooftop

I will be entering Leeds with 0 friends, will I be allowed to buy one and get myself another one for a quid or do I need a plus one

That reopened now? Great place but I'm sure it was closed while expanding into the old bookies next door.

Yeah man reopened about half a year ago after a fortnight or so knocking through. it's not as good as it was but it's like kings of Leon after sex on fire or borussia Dortmund - STOP LIKING MY THINGS I WAS HERE FIRST because I'm a jeb like that

Chapel Allerton is great. Quite a few nice bars (one with a great selection of gins) and a fabulous Thai restaurant ( Sukhothai) You could do a lot worse.

As others have said it's a brilliant place to live. Call Lane etc have some really nice bars (a bit like Bold Street if you want a comparison), somebody mentioned Oporto, that's definitely the best, Call Lane Social opposite is very good as well. You've also got Aire Bar which is just at the bottom of Call Lane and left good for the footie, and their burgers are off the charts too.

Belgrave is very nice, unique. You've also got Mojo's (similar to the one in Liverpool) and Verve, Santiago's etc, which are all good bars, places you'd take a bird though.

Briggate, like the high street, is good as well. Whitlocks is like the oldest pub in the city apparently, always rammed after 5 though, do some good guest ales and craft beers. There's a Brewdog as well, which apparently was the first ever Brewdog, and they're opening another one at the top end of town as well.

It'll take you ages to explore it all, but despite what people say Leeds folk are on the whole very friendly. My housemate is a scouse convert as well, took him about a year to fully settle but he enjoys it more than Liverpool now.

There seems to be a fair few Leicester fans knocking about as well. Me and another guy in Leeds try to get to as many away games as possible - let me know if need a lift to any games (no homo)...

haha thanks, will drop you a line if anything comes up away wise, think the job will require me to work a lot of weekends though so will have to be a big one to book it off!

Love a night out in Leeds, much better for bars than nightclubs though. The nightclub scene is pretty terrible with Prism, Tiger Tiger being full of the usual knobheads you will find in most cities.

 

Some very cool bars along Call Lane, there's also a hotel bar in the centre that gets pretty full at the weekends that is very nice. The toilets are through the hotel reception which is kind of weird.

 

Take every social opportunity that you can get, though I'm sure a lot of the workers at a place like Hills will be well up for drinking!

So I am moving to live in Leeds, by myself. Like literally. I don't know a single person who lives there and I'm going next week. So like all the cool kids I'm turning to the internet to find some shit out.

I'm moving to a place (well hopefully) called Chapel Allerton about 2 miles outta town. I was told it was "hip and happening" which is what most people describe me as, so what a match made in heaven. I'm working in town (Merrion Street) so I'm guessing it'll be best to bus it in? Or is there bare parking in town for free?

So Leeds men (not you, Leeds Fox you liar) what do I do there. Where do I get most drunk, where do I eat that means I don't have to cook, where do I find and them take the chicks on the dates etc? And most of all is it good yeah? More specifically Chapel Allerton itself? Seems like a lot of bars/restaurants in the village and stuff, looks pretty sweet.

Any inside tips/hot spots I need to get to to make actual friends etc much appreciated.

Went to Halo once and a girl showed off her vibrator to me. It could be a common occurrence so I'd get down there asap to find out if I were you.

 

It's closed down lads, I used to work there....what an absolute dive it was as well.

It was a dive but always had a brilliant night when I went. Every drink was a quid on Monday nights if I can remember right? I had some good memories made from that place.
