Ross-Kemp Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 So with the diverse population that foxestalk is, I thought it would be interesting to see who has actually played / coached / managed / refereed in football and if you have, at what level. I've played Sunday's in the Alliance leagues for a few teams, highest division I'd played at was division 3. I've just signed for a Saturday side in the senior league premier division. I would be very interested in going into management / reffing once I get too old to play. Over to you, foxestalkers....
SystonFox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I'm now 28. Played competitively since I was 9 for youth sides. Played in the alliance league since I was 21 currently in my second season as manager of CSKA Reserves. Hoping to play more this season after recent injuries.
Soar Fox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I'm 27. Played since I was around 7/8 years old started off at Oadby Town, Aylestone Park and Ratby & Groby were my youth teams up until under 16's. When I was 17 I joined Sporting Parva who were in division 1 of the alliance league. When I was 21 I joined St Andrews Saturday team and the highest i played with them was EMCL. 2012/13 I played for Fairfield Dynamo in alliance div 2. Stopped playing for a while then last season I helped a friends team out in Div 7 but it was awful so didn't bother after 4 games. Hoping to start up my own Sunday team next season depending on what sponsorship I can get.
Grandad. Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Played Senior League Prem and Reserves for Barrow from the age of 15 then went and knocked around in the North Leicestershire Leagues, complete waste of time, Charnwood Sunday League all Leagues and won pretty much everything in the Prem. Not interested in playing now, 24 and think local football is dying, was asked to go and help a friend at Wymeswold FC in the North Leics Prem but I really cannot be bothered with it all, happy enough to watch football in the pub or go to games.
ozleicester Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Started playing at 7 Moved to australia into a totally new suburb, family started a junior soccer club which has since been running for 40 years. It now has about 25 teams of kids between 6 and 16 years old. Went on to play semi pro between 18 - 28 div 1 and 2 in SA. Coached kids teams for a couple years, then managed/coached the semi pro reserves side (was sacked for refusing to play the senior coache's 20 year old son) Then played amateur sunday league stuff until i was about 36, have since played 5 aside... but the knees are gone.... maybe this is the last season? edit fvck.... writing this made me realise ive been playing for.... 45 years jeebus
Mikey Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Play In Leicestershire senior league division 1 on a Saturday at the minute, for the newly reformed Ibstock United senior side. Doing my coaching badges over the course of this year, well level 1 and 2.

Soar Fox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 You can do coaching courses at Holmes Park & Judgemeadow. Cost is around £300
Mikey Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 How did you get into the coaching buddy? What's the costs like? I've done Level 1 which cost me £130. Looking to do level 2 soon as possible. You can just apply to do them on here http://www.thefa.com/my-football/football-volunteers/find/find%20a%20course
Stadt Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 I "played" from about 11-14 but always being on the bench and a dodgy knee meant I lost interest
whoareyaaa Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Played up until about 16/17, had a few trials problem is they don't give youngsters a good enough chance to make it through. Also had a cock of a manager who favoured his son. So much wasted talent out there.
