Louise Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Get Your Cup Tickets Ticket prices for the Carling Cup 2nd round tie against Blackpool on Tuesday September 20 have been set by the Football League after the two clubs failed to agree. City were keen to keep prices as low as possible with the aim of attracting as many supporters of both teams as they could to the fixture, but their proposal was not agreed by Blackpool who wanted the club to charge a normal Championship admission price. So, in line with Carling Cup guidelines, the Football League were asked to intervene. Tickets for the game will go on General Sale from 9am on Thursday September 8, priced at £12 for Adults and £6 concessions. Season ticket holders seats will be reserved until close of business on Wednesday September 14. City have decided not to open the North or East Stands for this game to reduce staging costs and have therefore reserved the best seats in the West and South Stands for season ticket holders who will not be able to take up their normal seats. The ticket office will be open from 9am to 5pm weekdays and from 9am until kick off, plus half and hour after the final whistle of the Sheffield Wednesday game on Saturday. The ticket office will also extend its opening hours until 7pm on Friday September 9. Call in to the Walkers Stadium in person or contact the ticket office by phone on 0870 499 1884, fax 0116 229 4404, or email your request to [email protected] http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~709927,00.html Some 'interesting' stuff in there. Blackpool wanting us to charge full wack (what, £27 to see Blackpool in the cup?) so the League setting the prices. And two whole stands being closed as well.
Craig Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 No season ticket discount either, don't affect me though cos im on holiday, what wankers they really are.
Craig Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Where will the 2 blackpool fans sit? They're not comming because the tickets are too cheap.
Louise Posted 7 September 2005 Author Posted 7 September 2005 Hmm. Looking at the prices from last year it looks like ST holders are worse off but non-ST holders are getting a better deal. Last year in the FA Cup 3rd Round it was £15 adults and £8 concessions but for ST holders it was £10 adults and £5 concessions.
Guest Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Looks to me like Blackpool either wanted few City fans turning up as possible, or seem to think we'll sell a lot of tickets and want to cash in.
Anish Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 I know we all complain about LCFC and their ticket policy, but if Blackpool wanted to make LCFC charge normal Championship prices then they are really pathetic. I'm glad LCFC saw sense and wanted to keep prices cheap, it shows that they are learning their lessons of previous mistakes. Having said that, £12 for a Carling Cup game against Blackpool is still probably too expensive for what it's worth. Not that LCFC are to blame, but it's not going to benefit either club (nor the players who will be playing in front of a 5k crowd).
lush Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Lisa touched on it. Its a reasonably low price to earn blackpool decent wedge, but high enough to keep the backing for city low.
lush Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 Poilitics running football! Its a business, whada ya expect.
john_lcfc Posted 7 September 2005 Posted 7 September 2005 closing the east stand hmmm what do we reckon the attendance will be il say 9,000 ish
