Renart Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 I am sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. The nominations are out for the 2015 award, which is decided by a public vote: http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/puskas-award/index.html David Ball's goal for Fleetwood v Preston is in there. Which is the best goal and why? All are great goals, but I think that Castro's, Lira's and Messi's Stand out. Although, I do think that Ball's is class. I would probably give it to Messi, for the amount of players he beats and his composure at the finish.
Richard Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 Ball, Messi, or Mexes. Sorry but the token women's goal was just poor goalkeeping. If FIFA weren't trying to be so politically correct ( ) then Charlie Adam vs Chelsea is better than hers in every way.
Darkon84 Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 Ball, Wendell, Tevez. Ball got my vote, cracking feet and finish there.
Captain... Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 Castros' was lucky, it was a stretch and a swing and he made perfect contact, but more by luck than judgement, I also discount any that are a result of bad defending and goalkeeping, so that's Florenzi, Lira and Lloyd out. Messi's goal is sublime, and there are some great strikes from Hjeng, Ramirez and Mexes, and a lovely bit of skill by Ball, but a weird floaty shot. For me all great goals should start by wrestling out of a headlock on the half way line which is why I'm voting for Tevez, that and the cheeky little finish.
ScouseFox Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 esteban or wendell for me. tevez's is better than messi's. my nan could've saved messi's.
Jordan Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 I don't mind Captain Carli not winning the award so as long as she gets her face on the $10 bill. What a way to cap a first half hat trick in the World Cup final. I was already partying by that time, but when that shot went in, I lost my shit. Wendell Lira's goal was a fantastic team play--I wish the Puskas Award recognized more of these types of goals. I'd throw that in the top 3. I'd have to put David Ball in the final vote, too--great technique. But the only way Messi's spectacular solo goal--in a Cup final, no less--won't win is if FIFA decide Messi has already won enough trophies.
Renart Posted 6 November 2015 Author Posted 6 November 2015 Some more stuff on the BBC about this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34749347
Itsblueuptnorth Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 How on earth is Carlis goal on there. The keeper was sat down ffs
Jordan Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 How on earth is Carlis goal on there. The keeper was sat down ffsI wonder if Carli Lloyd considered that she could catch the keeper off her line before deciding to have a pop from the halfway line...
ScouseFox Posted 6 November 2015 Posted 6 November 2015 never gonna be that great a goal if there's a woman in goal really
Nalis Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 Messi, Castro, Ramirez in the order. Good to see Mexes in there again with another trademark stunner. Lot of the goals were from poor defending/goalkeeping, particularly the Tevez goal.
Jattdogg Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 Everyone loves there own type of stunner but for me it was esteban ramirez goal. Some nice goals but womens world cup goal should not have been on there (not for sexists reasons either it just wasnt worthy).
ScouseFox Posted 7 November 2015 Posted 7 November 2015 tbf as much as literally any other living organism ever to exist would've saved that women's one, didn't realise it was to seal a hat trick in a world cup final. pretty cool. also didn't realise women could kick the ball that far. hats off.
