Callum Chettle

NUNEATON Town could be hit by the January sales with up to THREE players attracting attention from cubs as high as the Premier League.

Midfield man Callum Chettle is one of those with the biggest suitors as the Foxes of Leicester are looking at the former Ilkeston man.

At the same time Aaron Williams and Zeus De La Paz are due to spend a week on trial at Peterborough United as the League One club look to strengthen this window.

Boro boss Kevin Wilson admitted the interest was genuine.

He said: "Leicester have been looking at Callum for a while and Aaron and Zeus are going up to Peterborough this week.

"It is something we thought could happen at this time of year due to the start we have had.

"We expected interest after what we have done. And there is interest.

"It is something we will deal with."

No bids have been made for any of the three players as of yet, and Wilson expects all of them to continue to shine while they are at the A1 Gas Force Arena.

He said: "They have clubs looking at them because of the way they have been playing for Nuneaton Town and I expect those standards to remain the same.

"They are good players and I know they will."

He added: "It is not all about players and their moves after all.

"We are in the middle of a season ourselves and we want to go on and do something this year.

"For that to happen we all need to remain focused, no matter what is happening off the pitch.

"Moves will happen and that is something I have dealt with before. It is all part of having good players."

In-fact Wilson believes that having the likes of Leicester City sniffing around could help him when it comes to replacing those who do go.

The Boro boss said: "We have got a reputation now. Players know that we do things the right way here and that teams are interested in what we are doing.

"It makes us the kind of team that players want to join.

"It is something that we have worked hard to happen and I am hoping we can take advantage of it over the next few weeks."

This is not the first time that Nuneaton have had interest for one of their young stars this season.

Zeus Da La Paz lol

He's actually a really tidy keeper wouldn't mind having him down here! 20 years old played all his youth career at PSV had offers professionally but wanted regular football so went Nuneaton. Full international for some weird country too!

He's only being playing in the UK for a few months yet already has professional clubs offering him trials.

Doesn't our ex youth player Shane Byrne now play his trade at Nuneaton?

I'm sure he played a game as a trialist for our Under-21's?

Not too sure to be honest with you. Just watched him a few times as there was a lot of hype when his deal at Nuneaton went through as I don't think he could get a permit to play here orignally or something?

Yes he was on trial here in August/September. He's dutch/curacao so doesn't need a work permit.
