MrSpaM Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I think its bad business by Rudkin and he should go. Hes been shite for a while now. Get someone in who will make the deals happen If Vardy gets injured our top 4 spot will be gone We've signed players, failing to see how he should be labeled as 'shite'
hackneyfox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Nobody kn I'll say it again, anyone got any proof there is a wage cap? I don't believe there ever has been a rigid wage cap and this new deal for Vardy will clearly smash it should it have existed. Expect that talks with a few other players may be on ongoing.
davieG Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I suspect that if we'd have finally agreed a fee then manu were waiting in the wings to take him after we'd done all the work.
filbertway Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I really love the way we go about business. People can complain about the way we're doing business and point to how others operate. For me though, we're doing it the right way in building slowly, not trying to run before we can walk, not being held to ransom by clubs just because we have more money. A lot of the reason we're doing so well this season is the incredible workrate and bond between the player that compensates for a lower level of quality compared to teams around us. I wouldn't change that for the world and I'm glad the people that matter at the club seem to feel the same way.
talking_goldfish Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I, for one, think that this window was a big success. I understand people's concerns over the fact we failed to pin down a new striker, however no one knows the reason for this. The only thing we do know is that Chelsea were playing silly buggers on Transfer Deadline Day, waiting for news on Falcao, which (pardon the turn of phrase) 'scuppered' the deal to bring Remy to the club. As for Musa, how do we know that the £18m-£20m bid we put in for the player was a cash-up-front bid and not one including bonuses / add ons? In which case we may have had to up our bid by upwards of £10m to get close to the release clause. And as others have said, what if we did pay the full £23m and he turned out more Kramaric than Mahrez?! What we should be looking at is what we have left at the club now the window is closed: Two new young, pacey players - one of which was regarded by many as the best thing in the Danish league and the other an up-and-coming England prospect More importantly, the players we didn't lose - Vardy, Mahrez, Drinky, Kante, Fuchs, Morgan, Schmeichel, some of these are regarded among the best players in the league Our squad has a togetherness many teams would kill for, this being the sole reasons the current Premier League champions have faltered this year. Just a brief glance at Fuchs' Twitter page would make any self-confessed Leicester fan swell with pride. Every single player loves playing for us, WE ARE MASSIVE. So yes, I believe this was a successful Transfer Window and no matter what happens from here on in we deserve to be where we are.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Typical FT. Let's have this conversation at the end of the season if we retain our spot that would enable Champions League football. Let's hope we have enough in the tank. I'd hate to be having a conversation along the lines of 'what if' should we now blow an amazing opportunity. I pretty much know the forum will be full of this if we now fail in this target by not strengthening in key areas (especially up top). It'll start tonight if we lose. Personally I think we'll be ok. Amartey I think is a shrewd signing.
