leicester1884 Posted 14 September 2005 Share Posted 14 September 2005 Is the pointless & worthless partnership still in existence?? Just that I've not seen anything about it lately. And how in any way has/did it benefit LCFC??
Benji Posted 14 September 2005 Share Posted 14 September 2005 it allowed us to provide a well contructed, effiecient and exciting tournament the other pre-season
Libertine Posted 14 September 2005 Share Posted 14 September 2005 I read something about it a while ago, something similar to your post, that it's pointless! That's all I've heard since it started.......
Fox 4 Life Posted 14 September 2005 Share Posted 14 September 2005 They only did it because Leicetser has a large Asian community and wanted more support! It was just a marketing thing and didnt benefit us in any way! East Bengal were complaining recently that we havent kept to our promises!

When will they ever learn - People go to football because they want to, not because they are 'encouraged' to do so. LCFC not keeping promises - Never

Sly Posted 15 September 2005 Share Posted 15 September 2005 I'd say the partnership between Leicester/East Bengal has raised Bengal's profile in Leicester and vice versa. I for one hadn't heard of them before the partnership.

leicester1884 Posted 15 September 2005 Author Share Posted 15 September 2005 I have fond memories of that successful weekend... I don't doubt it. But surely that was not the reason for the partnership. Many other clubs have managed to hold mini pre-season tournaments without the need of forming partnerships with foreign clubs. I doubt that the Leicester City-East Bengal partnership was high on the agenda of reasons why CS Maritimo and Real Mallorca decided to take part in 'The Pepsi Challenge'.
