The Guvnor Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Just watched the highlights of the penalty decisions, two of the three pens were awarded for pulling/ pushing and to be honest was nothing different to what you see week in week out. During his post match interview Bilic has suggested our match with them has changed not just in the prem but Europe wide what contact is /isn't acceptable inside the box, I have to say that in all honesty two of the decisions last night looked ridiculous but with the evidence from Mike Deans decisions yesterday he may have a point at least the Prem anyway. I don't know if any directives have been given to the refs but we need to be aware, I hope this is sorted out in the summer because inconsistency is the problem. Personally I would like to see shirt pulling and players being dragged down in the box awarded a pen but not when both players are pushing each other in a 50/50 tussle.
AKCJ Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Mike Dean is similar to Moss in that he loves the spotlight to be on him. The sooner we are rid of these arrogant arseholes the better. For me, Robert Madley is one of the better referees. Just let's the game get on with it. Fewer people know his name because he doesn't get himself involved and he dishes out the correct punishments when and where they are needed. He referred the Merseyside Derby to perfection last night.

I didn't think he refereed the Merseyside Derby to perfection. He was just handing yellow cards out for nothing. Lennon was booked for virtually nothing, as an example. You've got to let some stuff go in derbies. Correct decision regarding the red card though. Also Madley gave the last min penalty to Spurs against us in the FA Cup.
Kitchandro Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Either you give penalties for all of them or none of them. I would actually support the referees giving 10 penalties a game against defenders who are just holding onto players (but not if they just throw themselves over like Reid did on Sunday). But you can't give one for holding and then bottle it when the same thing happens at the next corner.
MrSpaM Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 Andy Carroll was playing, if it was anything like the game against us, he probably spent the entire game moaning at the ref every time somebody so much as breathed on him.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 21 April 2016 Posted 21 April 2016 What was wrong with the award of the West Ham penalties in this game?
