Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 No just think it was a big achievement to take on the establishment. I remember that day very well. Also Everton are visiting.. not just any team. Yes they came from the same city and have shown solidarity since, but it's not like it was their fans caught up in the tragedy. If it was Liverpool themselves I could almost get it. I think as people have said already, you're trying to take the moral high ground when it really isn't there to be taken.
Fox92 Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Mods just close the thread... Firstly it's never going to happen and secondly people will just end up arguing about a disaster which, regardless of anybody thinks, killed innocent people.
Jock Wallace Posted 4 May 2016 Author Posted 4 May 2016 no, not a great idea. however... what is a "more appropriate level"? this should be front page news for ever. we're talking about the police being responsible for killing 96 people and then between themselves and the government, from top to bottom, trying not only to cover the fact they were responsible but to blame the helpless and the dead. i can't believe people still don't understand the absolute magnitude of what happened and how the fight to take on those who are at fault is unbelievable. 27 years. a lot longer than I've even been on the planet, the actual people in charge of our country have blamed and smeared dead people and their families, just because they were football fans from the north so they knew they could get away with it. but yeah let's hope it all dies down a bit and people forget it ever even happened. wasn't that big a deal I guess. This.
Jock Wallace Posted 4 May 2016 Author Posted 4 May 2016 It would have been more appropriate to have sung it at the home game against WHU (the nearest date to 15th April). The verdict had not been made at that point I don't think. A verdict of unlawful killing. By the police. And then a cover up by the government. Anyhow... like someone said... City fans dooont know the words so just leave it right there..
lifted*fox Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 No thanks. Their cause gets plenty of coverage and support as it is - we shouldn't be concerning ourselves with it on the day we celebrate this clubs biggest (possibly once in a lifetime) achievement.
Ross-Kemp Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Not a ****ing chance. I'd be disgusted if on our biggest ever day, we sang this.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 If you think this should be front page news forever god knows what you are going to think when the findings of the Chilcott inquiry come out. That was about 250,000 dead based on a pack of lies. Herd The times are running a special edition tomorrow, apparently ze Germans have invaded Poland
