90-92 third shirt?

Recommended Posts

Saw this pop up on eBay recently, wondering if it was an actual shirt? Thought the all red shirt was the third kit for 1990 - 1992, but this looks like it is from the same sort of time.

I don't think it was a kit.  I remember around that time they sold what they called 'leisure shirts' or something like that, made of the same sort of horrible man made material as replica kit but different designs.  I knew someone who had one that was in much the same colours, also made by Bukta but I'm sure had a slightly less garish pattern

That is a crime against my eyes. Horrendous.

I think you have the third kits the wrong way round, that red one was definitely 100% used in 91-92 season, it was my first season going to games and remember seeing us wore it away at Blackburn towards the end of the season. I have no memory of that gold one.

In fact the amazing history section on this very site has video evidence:

A match that featured 2 future premier league champions, only months before the premier league even started, also catches a hilarious slip on the mud from a jubilant John Gregory.
