The Horse's Mouth Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 you've got to wonder if Morgan regrets taking Jamaica, he'd surely be in over Jagielka currently

How on earth Henderson and Walcott have been selected is baffling to me to be honest.

But I'd assume he'd have rather represented the country that he's lived his whole life in.

You would have thought so, but I suppose captaining the country you have chosen to represent is slightly better than watching players like Chris Smalling and Phil Jagielka get selected over you

Course he has no regrets , have you been watching England for last 20 years who the feck would regret missing that crap

It's not like he's played for Jamaica his whole career, he was like 29 when he made his debut.

If you're such a proud Jamaican and you want to represent them, you'd surely have declared straight off the bat, it's not like he's been working his whole career to finally get recognised by the Jamaican FA, if he'd have declared sooner he'd have been picked pretty much for the majority of his career

Blue ROI Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 England were too busy obsessing over their 'golden generation' to worry about some nobody playing in the championship. Morgan chose to play for Jamaica who are we to question our glorious leader. We got the best out of him thats what counts.

If he was so in touch with his roots, he would've reached out sooner. Jamaica aren't ****ing Spain, they don't have a huge talent pool to chose from. Even at Forest he was a highly regarded defender who would've gotten into their team no matter what.

He was born in England so obviously he gets cast as an "English footballer" jamaica obviously didn't rate him and to be fair until he came to us he was a run of the mill solid championship player for a well past their date club in forest he was never playing for England he knew that and I suspect he always harboured playing for the Jamaican's and as soon as they came calling he jumped he has no regrets ! He is a proud reggae boy ! The only regret im sure he has is that he didn't attract Jamaica sooner !

He's eligible for Jamaica through his grandparents, so if he was so serious about playing for Jamaica and he was seriously connected to his roots, he'd have surely declared sooner rather than needing to be approached. And before he joined us he'd been a part of a Forest team which had made the play-offs two years in a row in one of the most solid defences in the division. Sure it's miss-management on the part of the Jamaican lads, but if his Jamaican roots meant so much to him and he wanted to represent them on the international stage, he'd have put himself out there way before he got approached. I'm not suggesting he was hanging on to the hope he'd get called up to England either, I'm saying his roots clearly didn't mean that much to him if he didn't even attempt to make himself available earlier on in his career.
