Can anyone see any meaningful omissions there?

Gray, Chilwell and Kapustka among the U21s most likely to feature at some point.

Benalouane presumably has no future here, though he's still our player out on loan.

I'm obviously taking my eye off the ball as I hadn't realised that De Laet had left permanently for Villa (good signing for Villa at that level).

I'm glad that players like Ulloa & Wasilewski have stayed, even if they don't play that many minutes: the right sort of character and good in a crisis.

A little short of quality cover at right back and central midfield would be the only minor gripe - and we're not too badly off even there.

Wouldn't expect a repeat of the 15-16 season, particularly due to the loss of Kante, but no reason why we can't finish well into the top half, at the very least, and do something in a cup - preferably a run in the Champions League.

I know we have a few 'youngsters' who will be involved for the first team but our squad seems a bit thinner then I thought it was 22 players named but 3 of them are 'keepers

No Benny! Russian, Dutch, Bulgarian, and Romanian windows still open...

Sky & Wiki suggest he had an option to make his Fiorentina loan permanent in the summer. Any word as to whether that might still be on the cards?

No Benny :( he just played for the u23s too.

So for our 23-man UEFA squad - in which Gray, Kapi, Iversen and a few others would need to be named - we don't have room for 2 of: Hamer, Iversen, Kapi, James, Ulloa.

No Hamer, Iversen or James

That'd be my choice too and include Benny, but without Benny we can include James too for if he ever gets fit.

If Kasper or Zieler get injured, then we can still put Max Bramley on the bench.

I doubt it. He had to sue Fiorentina for unpaid wages, since he was injured for almost the entire loan period. Atalanta had been rumoured on being interested, but I guess nothing came from it.

City manager Claudio Ranieri said last week that French-born defender Benalouane, who only signed from Atalanta last summer, was training with the first team while his future was being weighed up.

"He's working with us after a back injury," said Ranieri. "He trained with us. We will decide what is best for us and him."

Can anyone tell me, what is the downside of putting Bennny in the 25 man list? If there are only 22 named surely it would at least give us another option, even if remote?

The only two reasons I can think is that 1) They are going to ship him somewhere with an open window, but those are getting a bit thin on the ground; 2) Ranieri really doesn't want people he just won't play on the squad list.
