As I said in the match thread I can't understand why no proper link / number 10 has been brought in. Even @ramadaone said there was no chance of it happening.

As much as I kept bashing on last season about how Okazaki did nothing. you can see he is really missed especially linking the midfield and strikers.

 

Vardy, slimani and Musa seem to not want to move near the mideifled.

I think Slimani will be able to fulfill the Okazaki role, he just needs time. He definitely has the attributes.

 

Okazaki said in an interview, at first he didn't understand the role Ranieri wanted him to play, because of the language barrier. As the season progressed, he got to grips with his role. I think Slimani will do the same.

However right now Okazaki/Slimani need to be rotated each game.

But at times like Amartey he gives the ball away quite often and chases shadows.

He needs to play CAM for me, linking up the play and tracking back with his workrate. It would give him some free roam to create for the strikers and wingers.

Against the bigger teams it's a no brainer.

 

Considering how well him and Musa linked up against Barca second half, I'm surprised we've never seen both of them play with each other again even in the cup.
