Losing interest?

Anyone else find themselves losing interest in the City?

I know it sounds like "Ohh he's not a proper fan" but I can't help it.

I went the game last night, and took my 3 little cousins (2 of them for their first game) and they both said after the game "Shum, can't beleive you took us to game with no goals".

Bless them.

Anyway, I was watching the second half just wanting the game to end so I could get home and the time just dragged and dragged for me.

It's shame it's come to this.

Same for me, I sat on the train on the way home thinking why I have I made a 140 mile round trip costing me an extra £20 odd quid on top of my season ticket seat on a chilly Tuesday night to see Leicester draw 0-0 at home to Brighton in the Championship?

I think everyone questions their footballing faith at one point or another Shummeh, but stick with them ay, I went through a 'phase' like this a couple of years ago and now im back being well into it again, having watched Leicester for 20 odd years you get a bit like it but it will turn around soon I promise you. I could never say you werent a 'proper fan' Shum

I completely concur Shum, I didnt come down last night and I suppose that I am now not a proper fan, the reason you feel like this is because the expectations were so high, but a little voice from Hearts when we first got CL said that it would be dull football and I cant help starting to believe it.

But I will still continue to support him, them and the whole club, Its just beacuse its just like the last 2 seasons, every night before a game I get all excited again, only to watch a painful display against sides we should piss all over, and the drive home takes forever!

Hey Shum... KEeep the faith!! lol!!!

I'm starting to get really pissed off with it all at the minute and it's exactly how I felt this time last season. We haven't actually improved if you look at it from afar, we are going nowhere.

I know a few wins and it can all change but that hasn't happened for a year now and is it likely to? We are a million miles away from being a force in this league and people can harp on about all the cliche's people use to describe this league and how a few wins and this that and the other but it's all bollocks. Right now we are nothing short of a bunch of slags who are struggling to get a shag in a bar full of pissheads and it's not a pretty sight.

Aaaah well Derby away on saturday, a chance to get absolutely ****in leathered and have a sing song about how shit we really are.

Welcome to the 'levein world of boring football' boys.

Reading this board is like reading Hearts forums form the time Levein was in charge.

Long ball tactics, players in wrong position, boring boring football, and i bet Levein will be hiding behind the fact that he has had to sell players, no money etc etc.

Enjoy it foxes as it won't get any better.

Your missing something though, you boys won when he was in charge. We don't! The boring football doesn't actually exist here and we actually pass it about well, but can't seem to stick the ball in the net and when we do, the defence will **** up and we'll concede a couple aswell.

You Hearts fans keep waffling on about you warned us, but Levein is obviously using a different style of management down here as we don't play boring football or long ball, I wish we did if it meant we won some games.

I definitely agree Shum and I haven't even had to endure the rubbish!

The sad thing is, At this level, a bit of Hoof ball would probably have given us better results

Don't worry about your interest dwindling Shum, it happens to us all, part of supporting LCFC. I said to Rob last night 'Shum's cousins must have been naughty to have been forced to watch that game', but joking apart mate, you're not on your own, it's very hard to feel excited about a game, when week after week we are watching the same garbage, TBH last night was an improvement on Saturday, that was dire. the most worrying aspect for me is this playing people out of position and the endless 'head tennis', football is a simple game, not rocket science. If I, as a 'mere' woman can see the problems, why in heaven can't CL. The good days will be back Shum, maybe not this season or next, but they will be back

I've just made my first post on another thread, now I can't help myself. I'm not going to moan about the money and all that, but I simply can't justify going to see City any more after Tuesday. For years I've gone every home game and I used to go away too, but it's very expensive and I'm afraid to say the attitude of the stewards towards the fans is pretty horrible - I actually saw a steward telling a fan to 'quieten down' the other match. The fan pointed out that he wasn't swearing then, before he knew it, there was another steward onto him pointing out that families were nearby. So I thought I'd start going the opera instead. Seriously though, it's hard to take so much out of your pay-packet for a side which provides zero entertainment and, at times, doesn't even attempt to. Good luck Craig, you've done a lot of positive things at the club, but the team are dull and ordinary and I'm going to do the unthinkable and wait until you start looking like a marketable product before I waste my cash on you.

I'm enjoying it. I find things exciting.

I'm the same, I no longer get that "buzz" I used to, now its mainly provided by the odd away game but that takes a lot of effort for me considering I work saturdays. Everyone in the crowd just seems fed up now and to be honest I can't blame them, we've had to endure this shit for too long and this is where its hit now, the lowest point when we have empty seats visible in most stands in number, no atmosphere, nothing. Even dropping the prices last night didnt help, it just goes to show how many people want to come and watch that standard of football. I've thought long and hard over the last few days about my alliegence to Leicester and wether it could be of use to another club. Who knows, its not just the fact City are doing badly its everything, the club, the fans , the music is shit etc just doesn't seem worth it anymore. I preferred it when we were getting our asses kicked at filbo but at least then there was some noise.

How do you think I feel? After X years of not missing a game, I have the simple choice of Carling Cup action at Ninian Park, or an evening enhancing my education and hopefully my life.

There would have been a time I'd time my 'illness' to perfection, but although it pains me, and the dilemma is there, a part of me is saying 'Be sensible. Uni it is.'

I wish I could wash my hands of them so easily at times like this!

You can't though Lisa, it's in your blood, I could NEVER support another side. We've had the good days, but I'm afraid we are now having to endure the bad ones. We will continue go to the games, there is nothing else I would rather be doing on a Saturday even at this standard, but next season, who knows, are we prepared to re-new our tickets, I expect so, every season brings fresh hope and anticipation

i will never stop supporting or having a season ticket. But I know what you mean. A times like these we all know even a win won't really do anything for us. There is nothing at stake

Posted

I've been a Hearts supporter for 35yrs , but during Leveins tenure in charge for the first time ever i would get up on a Saturday morning and wonder if it was worth going to watch his tactics, it was only my love off all things Hearts that kept me going to the games.

I don't enjoy going to watch us as much as I used to, but that is mainly down to the football that is being played at the moment. Apart from one successful season over the past 5 years (2002/2003) the football has been dire. Every season apart from the promotion campaign, we've seen a high turnover of players, which has contributed to the lack of attachment from the fans to the players.

What we all want to see is a settled side, playing to their potential and putting their all in each week. We are not seeing all of those qualities at present - it's no wonder attendances are dwindling. Winning games will inevitably bring the crowds back in, but that's easier said than done. We haven't won many games over the last 2 and a half years, and that doesn't look likely to change much over the next few weeks.

The football has been dire but atleast the season we were in the prem was entertaining i.e Wolves 4-Leicester 3, Spurs 4-Leicester 4. Atleast it gave us something to talk about not like it is at the moment. In the prem we were good upfront but shit at the back which = Goals goals and more goals.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I didn't agree with anything you said, today your talking sense boy!!!!!!!

Still doesn't help though. Cardiff (where no doubt we'll play crap and lose) or Uni?

I know what I should do, and what I want to do, and they're both different. Bugger the police and the SAG, if they hadn't moved the Cov game, I wouldn't even be thinking about missing a game!

Still no nearer a decision mate? :( You will end up deciding on the day I bet you, thats what usually happens to me.

I've lost a fair bit of interest this season too.

Yesterday was my first home game this season, and going to the ground I had that sense of excitement and buzz that I had when I first started to support Leicester all those years ago.

I enjoyed the game but I don't think that level of performance will make me come back for many more. I'll probably make 10 home games at most this season but my interest has somewhat faded because of uni and all the extra work that now entails.

I don't blame anyone for questioning their support, there has been very little positives with LCFC for 5 years now, as Scowy pointed out.

I lost intrest a while ago! Probably sometime during our relegation season (2nd time) through last season I lost intrest even more, now I find myself just bored and looking around at other things rather than the game.
