Premier League focus?

Recommended Posts

How you think we'll be in the premier league now we have qualified and won our champions league group?

I hope we really push on now and climb back up the league to a respectable position, our focus has clearly been champions league so far this season. Although transfers in Jan are hard to complete, hopefully with a good top half position and last 16 spot we can really appeal to some big players - hopefully club is working on them now and not what seems our standard last minute.

Plenty of games coming up so plenty of points to be had

I'm also hoping we might start to pick up our form in the league now. Our intentions can be more directed and focused on the PL which is good.

They seemed very annoyed on Saturday, and to be fair we got a response in the first half last night. Hopefully we can win on Saturday, things won't look anywhere near as bad if we do.

That's what I'm hoping - the Porto game will still be massive but already qualifying we don't need to worry about it as such.

No domestic cup, unless we really want to go all out for the FL Trophy  so we can really switch our attention on league and play to their actual standard

You would still expect them to be annoyed, nobody wants to lose but you can tell we have had no desire in the league yet especially when champions league is approaching, it's almost a guarantee we will lose the game before but champions league we have seemed up for it from the off

Now to Jan - Kasper injured, Mendy injured, Drinky possibly suspended

Jan to Feb - Loads off to AFCON.

Feb to Mar - CL knockouts prioritised

Not at all convinced about pulling away from the relegation zone, much less top half. Would like to be wrong though. Macia's first window, we'll see

Fully expect to be awful Saturday, no disrespect, we are not a very good side, we can beat the poor sides at home, beat no one away, and any half decent side, we don't have enough.

We won the title on confidence, hard work, a settle side, and pressured teams, which gave us the edge, and momentum.

Before last season, we were a lower, average side, with average players barring one or two,  so these players who have had a once in a lifetime season, have gone back to what we know they are, but expect them to be better.

Examples.

morgan, other than last season, was poor and struggled.

Albrighton, rejected by villa, struggled to get into a Pearson side for a time, very limited player, who only has the ability of using his stronger foot.

King, couldn't get into the side on a regular basis for years, not good enough at this level, but is now playing more often than not.

I could go on, but the point I'm making is, we think these players are better than they are, because of one miracle season, and forget the bulk are still here that fought off relegation, the season before.
