HighPeakFox Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 Cannot believe nobody has suggested Gary Lineker yet........
crazyleicester Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 Emile Heskey The selection isnt about who is the most famous or who went on to bigger and better things but a mixture of those types of things and what he did for our club. We had Heskey at his rawest and most effective IMO. We played the perfect formation for him and he thrived. Ive seen the guy bully so called world class defenders and after seasons of donkeys we actually had a wonderkid who even to this day continues to fly the Leicester flag. Joachim 2nd for similar reasons as he too was explosive when he first came through.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 24 December 2016 Posted 24 December 2016 Heskey. His hold up play and ability to lay things off for whoever he played alongside was outstanding. He gets ridiculed for his goal scoring record but very few players have contributed so much to every team they have played for in their careers. With the new love of the false nine in the modern game a player like Heskey would probably get a lot more credit had he been playing now. Joachim before him but he seem to fall off the rails which hindered the progress he should've made for his promise. I think it was against Pompey on the old first division but he took the ball just inside our half and riffled one in the top corner. Absolute screamer. Would be be great if we could one day have a golden generation come up through the ranks. We have had a few players who have promised but not quite made the step up on recent years.
murphy Posted 25 December 2016 Posted 25 December 2016 Emile for me. Brilliant for us until Liverpool ruined him by making him a big lump foil for Michael Owen. Also a Leicester lad and put his hand in his pocket when we went into administration. Great player and good egg by all accounts.
AyewJoking Posted 25 December 2016 Posted 25 December 2016 the fact andy king is arguably our best "home grown" player shows how wánk our academy is. andy king criticism aside, heskey is clearly our best though.
