Got to be King, even though he joined our academy at a late age, he's most certainly one of our own. Refreshing amount of loyalty in modern day football.

I'd be surprised if he has had many better offers throughout his career than what he has here.

I'm still amazed how we convinced Liverpool to give us £11m for Heskey. Love the guy though

It's a shame that KSI and the FIFA & Chill generation has turned Heskey into a punchline joke. Heskey was bloody good for us.

Nearly most strikers who played with Heskey pick him as their favourite partner. I've heard Rooney say it, and Owen. He was on goals on sunday the other week with Kirkland and Kirkland was saying the same thing. About being a respected player too.

Heskey's goalscoring record isn't the greatest but his ability to bring players into play, hold up the ball and create chances was unbelievable.

People either forget or aren't old enough to remember his Leicester and Liverpool days. He scored some fantastic goals for us. One of my favourites is the one against Tottenham at Filbert Street where he just turned the defender and sent an absolute bullet into the top corner.

Which is a good enough excuse to show his 2 goals and an assist in one of our regular 4 goal batterings of Derby County.

Thats a bit harsh!.

He was amazing for us and didnt he go on and score something like 22 goals in his first season for them?

What I remember about Heskey's Leicester career was a player that was sometimes unplayable but often frustrating. He used to get a lot of stick from the crowd even at Leicester. So in defence of urban spaceman, 11 million was a lot of money in 2000 for a pretty raw player. As people have pointed out, he's nowhere near as bad as the lad generation make out, but let's not forget that at times he struggled to utilise the incredible gifts he had.

Crikey! I wasn't having a go at Bruno. I did say I love the bloke. He was excellent for us of course and is rightly a club legend. I was at Filbo for the Sunderland 5-2 and that was surely one of his best performances for us. Didn't mean to imply any malice I just remember bein surprised (15 years ago) that we'd got that much for him.

Besides, it has pretty much been conclusively proven that he can indeed hit a cows arse with a banjo...

I will add, about 18 years ago we bumped into Heskey in Currys and as I was very young I was completely star struck by him, and didn't dare go over to get his autograph. Instead my gran went over to get it for me - I will never forget the sight of my Hobbit sized grandma asking a 7ft tall Emile Heskey for his autograph, especially when she had no idea who she was talking to. He came over to me and signed whatever I was carrying at the time. Lovely guy.

Lets not forget Emile also helped us when we were in admin. Gave 100k IIRC.

Its definitely Heskey for me.

But i also have a bit of a soft spot for Joachim and in some ways he stood out more for me because Heskey had a much better team around him....

I'll never forget that goal.. it was a cup game.. played in Nottingham where he had TWO defenders about 5 ft ahead of him near to the edge of the box.. he just knocked it through the middle of them and somehow found this burst of pace to get there and score. In the time it took him to cover 12ft they had covered about 5 ft.

And then another goal he scored where he was running to the edge of the box and  hit the ball with what seened like his little toe and some how  curled it past and bent it over the defenders and into the roof of the net. Those are two goals i havnt seen any other Leicester player score anything similar...

Edit: found the videos.. Started the run for both of them in his own half aswell!!

( i love how in  this first one in the goal celebration Grayson kicked Ormandroyed in the balls! lol )

That goal at Barnsley was incredible. We were behind the goal in the away end going mental when that went in. Joachim really should have been a contender. One of the few City players who genuinely got me out of my seat (even though we stood in those days lol) He had all the ability to go right to the top for me...

Imagine how much we would have got for JJ had he broken through in the modern era.
