I must say, though, that at times it's satisfying to revel in the misfortunes of our nearest rivals (geographically speaking) but it would be much better if at least one of them was in the Prem so we could have good, full-blooded league derby at least twice a season.

Also, I work in Coventry and work with some very good-natured Cov fans who couldn't be more happy with what we achieved last season. What's happening at their club is an utter disgrace that I wouldn't wish on any set of supporters.

Rumours that some players weren't happy and were speaking to the owner. Snakes, I tell you! Snakes!

Yes said he was too soft and easy going preferred some one like Pearson, oh no wait......................

Same. Saying that, it's a shame that they couldn't have kept up the attendances. When they returned to the Ricoh, they sold 27,000 tickets - since then, their gates have dropped by two-thirds. I understand that they are taking a stand against SISU, but now that they have a day out at Wembley they've shifted 32,500 tickets - enough to fill the Ricoh Arena. They are facing almost certain relegation from League 1, it's a shame that the 'fans' couldn't have got behind their team throughout the year instead of a tin pot trophy that no one would bother pissing in. Bit harsh, I concede, but Portsmouth, who have far greater grievances have regularly attracted 17,000 at Fratton in League 2.

If we had leaches such as SISU destroying our club, I'm not sure I'd want to line their pockets by coughing up £400 on a season ticket either.

Pompey have levelled out and are now fan owned (I believe?), so Fratton Park is a much better place to be than the Ricoh at the moment.

I do agree to an extent.

You are right, Pompey were bought out by a fan consortium but they had it much, much worse. On several occasions they have had no training facility and at one point 90% of the the players were on short term loan. They were still getting gate receipts between 16 - 17,000.

If the Cov fans genuinely want to boycott SISU then Wembley would be a good focal point - even if it is only the Checkatrade Trophy. I understand why they are unwilling to buy season tickets - but the club are in danger of simply fading away. No amount of plastic pigs hurled on the pitch will change that. They don't need to get behind the owners, but getting behind the team might make a difference.

The sad thing about the McClaren sacking is that Gary Rowett is in-line to be his replacement. Another decent manager (no not McClaren - Clement, Pearson, Clough etc) whom Mel Morris will fire once he loses two matches in a row.

For me, it's a bit of both with Coventry. They're owned by a hedge fund to whom profit is the be-all-and-end-all. Boycotting games is hitting them where it hurts: in the pocket. But they will continue to live within their means as much as they can, meaning that they will fade into obscurity and it won't be long before they can no longer rent the stadium from Wasps. I do feel for their fans because the choice of whether to buy a ticket or not is not as simple as it seems. Are you a scab for crossing the picket line, as it were? Or are you complicit in the demise of your club?

Pompey have good support to be fair- I'd imagine we would get similar crowds if we had gone through similar.

It's a difficult situation with Coventry. The heart and soul of their club has been completely ripped out by corporate lizards with no interest in the longevity of the club whatsoever- they can see that they are a million miles (and plenty more million pounds of their money) away from being profitable, so they have turned their back and seemingly given up on it. They still don't want to sell though, bizarrely.

Plenty of their fans just can't stand it and no longer go. I can't imagine weekends without following the City though, it must be so depressing for them to have to stay away.
